iPhone SE (2022) will apparently still look like something from 2017

06 January 2022
The previously rumored redesign has been delayed until 2024!

The point in the SE is to have the best CPU/SOC for the cheapest price possible.
GSMArena still doesn't understand that the reason why people buy Apple, is not just because it is Apple with iOS but it is that their SOC is (at least on benchmarks...) the most advanced or with the highest performance scores.
So I wouldn't mind getting the SE, outdated design or not, because I know I will have a lag-free phone, if it is not expensive.

This whole comment section seems to be just apple fanboys simping over the fact that they are still paying over 1k for a 5 year old design that is clearly not holding up

5G is still kind of not there yet.
Mobile phones have 5G chips since 2019 but still, unused.
They have to reinvent batteries and make them last longer.

As for apple, it's not a surprise that they update their design slowly.

I guess on the bright side, a lot of existing accessories (cases, screen protectors...etc.) will work for it

Also, they get broken much more quickly with ghost touch or green lines out of nowhere. Please, save this cancer of a Display technology for the other phones.

Of course, I am not saying they are completely wrong (quality wise), but the prices of Apple or Samsung phones (as new and as second hand) is definitely too high. Especially nowadays, when majority of people changes their phones frequently.
You can literally get a SD888 (something like Realme GT) or a SD865 phone (something like Xiaomi Mi10T) in my country with 250-270EUR (second hand with 1 year warranty). With the same amount of money, at the same store, you can get an iPhone 8 or a Samsung S10+/Note 9. So yeah..no comparison here.

And I will of course buy a phone with preloaded ads and Chinese spyware. Remember, the Chinese government can get people‘s data from companies at any time they want. Not to mention long term support.

It's no small feat. It needs 'courage' to release a 2017 design in 2022. Only Apple has it.

Apple just bring back the original SE (2016) instead. Best small phone ever. Single camera is fine

Surprising? Yes. But I mean, as long as they put the latest bionic chip in there, I wouldn't mind. I'm sure there are some people who don't care much about the looks/bezels, or who want a super small screen.

                                    65.4% screen-to-body ratio, here we go! 🤣

Apple : Keeping alive the nostalgia nobody asked for. 👌

Recent iOS designs are hard to use for the elderly.
