I hope they ditch it for their upcoming TVs too (in favour of Google TV/Android TV, whatever it is called nowadays...). And I'd very much love them to update their Tizen TVs to Android too (in the future). Those QD-OLED TVs look FAB! But the only downside, for me, is Tizen...

Tizen was fail since long time ago like many elese from Samsung such as foldables or FE models.
Other competitors do a lot better job.

what's about all those smartwatchs running on tizen?

Anonymous, 09 Jan 2022Color me surprised. Seeing how it went with BadaOS, I'... moreYup, seems that only

Quericus, 09 Jan 2022Well....another mobile OS down the drain again, just like B... moreKia OS on feature phones.

Speedy, 09 Jan 2022Tizen is a copy of Meego os developed by Nokia, after Noki... moreI have used this Nokia's Meego series phone, it was amazing on those day. N90 I had I think.
And yes it was Sailfish based OS basically.
Sadly Samsung rebranded it in the name of Tizen in 2017. That time I was sure this won't even continue till 2020.
Still Stock like pure Linux based OS can still work in 2022 especially on affordable phones, so that people can escape from Google. But question is who will do that.

Quericus, 09 Jan 2022Well....another mobile OS down the drain again, just like B... moreThere is a new OS made by Google, called Fuchsia OS. Huawei might also use it, and Samsung as well. So there will be another option beside Harmony OS.

Well....another mobile OS down the drain again, just like BlackBerry OS. :( That leaves HarmonyOS as the sole one left, and it's not viable yet. Are there any non-Google Android smartphones available?

I knew it. never trust Samsung when it comes to OS development.
I had a bit of hope they would continue Tizen on the wearables seeing how successful it was on the smartwatches, but even that was sacked for WearOS.

Samsung is like the typical meme dad. Goes out to buy cigarette, but never come back. They never learned from their own mistake. All they know is develop an OS, but they never really know how to nurture the ecosystem around it.

Tizen os for Tv is crap a few apps and thats it, not to mention that Tv has only 2 gb of memory and most of it is occupied by the stock apps

Hmm, wasn't this system also in a lot of their smart TV's? Not that i use a TV but i can think of a lot of them users who won't be to much happy about this decision.
