I want more speed and more RAM and new Symbian OS in my existing e61i. Rest is fine for me. May be the weight could be a bit lighter.

Well I have a E61i and a N82. If i could have a Carl Ziess camera and life blog in my e61i or in the new e71, I could have improved my professional life so much.

Most useful thing about the e61/e61i was the size of the screen. Downsizing the screen size to 2.36" is not a good idea. As an user of e61i, I would prefer the same screen size but improved Symbian edition, speed, incresed RAM and improved design. I dont like the sound of decreased screen size. I would rather stick with the older e61i.

SE4eva, 16 Jun 2008Nokia makes the least attractive handsets ever. They are lameWhy you looking for so attractive phone if you looking for Business phone which does your immedaite basic business needs. On top of that the E66 is a solid build strong phone packaged. It is basicly similair package as E51 with slide option. I am very happy with my E51 and can not wait to see E66 comes out next month.

it's funny reading your the posts knowing that each is taking sides whether which is the 'best phone' and in the end most are nominating a 'brand' rather than a specific phone model.
Objectively speaking, choosing the 'best' brand and 'phone' for that matter can be evaluated by investigating the sales, feature set, innovations, presence of product lines that cater each group, and after-sales support.
Motorola led the pack in its early years but is currently losing out on the ease of use of its cellphones, reiteration of design, and lagging in innovation. Have you ever met a Moto phone with wi-fi or GPS? This brand caters to the low&mid end consumers as well as the fashion conscious but losses out on the professional segment.
Sony-ericsson continues to please us with its dependable music-segment flushed with surprising features. Most of its music and feature-phones are especially adept at rendering java apps. There's the Music, Imaging, and Professional Segment (P800, etc). The GPS debut quite late for this brand and its existing Pro models are equipped with wi-fi wireless 'b'- a tad slower than thr prominent and well-accepted wireless 'g'. Employing WM 6.1 in its Xperia was a surprise for such a proud brand but nevertheless a good move to expand its range.
Samsung is likened to Motorola for its reiteration of designs, only BETTER. Most Samsung phones exude fashion/iconic value. Its phone categories are subtler than usual, sometimes even lumping phones w/ different OS and target into one campaign line but this brand manages to pull it off along with the strong performance and reliability of its parent appliance company. Omnia is probably their next big thing.
Nokia, with years of experience and organized category of phones catering different market segments has truly won the competition. The ease of use of its mid-end phones assures its success ands leadership in the market. Nokia manages its marketing well with a carefull planned indexing system. Before it was only numbers...6600, 7610, etc. Now the phone is using Nxx, Exx, and the usual numbering index to differentiate between phones of common feature-set. The ability to upgrade software and good aftersales service is also a plus for this company. The success of this brand can be summarized into 2 words: diversity and versatility.

Imran, 16 Jun 2008Hmm.... Improved design & seems to have all current standar... moreWhy is your iphone so great? Both of these handsets are going to retail at the same price as the iphone. I agree there are a lot of good things abou the iphone OS and multi touch. But spec for spec, these two are still winners. Personal opinion of course. But i prefer querty over glass any day.

yes, they have the highest profit due to high sales of mid/low range products.
but that is what most people buy.
and in addition,
you should know that their nseries, accounts for alot of sales. More then the iphone to apple, so nokia is successful in every niche,
its just their mid/low range is popular.
