MediaTek's Dimensity 9000 beats the SD 8 Gen 1 and Exynos 2200 at Geekbench

There's big difference between Dimensity 9000 Vs Snapdragon 8 gen 1.

D9 is using TSMC 4NM.
SD 8 gen 1 is using SAMSUNG 4NM.

Clearly the Samsung semiconductor is poorly produced, no wonder SD 8 gen 1 is slower. We know SD will release second version later this year using TSMC 4NM. Then will see if it's a SD issue or as we know Samsung can't produce good 4NM yield.

              If they still use qualcomm for highest tier devices, it is because they all consider it better.

              None of those $800+ phones will be powered by D9000.

                    How many with 8G1? Only from xiaomi you should expect at least 12. Now count other brands.

                      Who cares when it isn't noticable difference even for games. But it's good that Qualcomm doesn't have supremacy anymore.

                              Mediatek seems to be doing well as of late, and Qualcomm has a real problem in their hands. It's like the SD810 fiasco all over again.

                              I have no need to upgrade, though. My Galaxy S21+ with Exynos 2100 is doing well, and will continue to do well for the foreseeable future.

                                  My next phone will be exynos 2200 or dimensity 9000 which ever ends up being the best performer once its official.

                                    Kudos to mediatek for surpassing snapdragon and exynos in CPU performance (even though it is most probably due to better node efficiency of TSMC)

These are early benchmarks. And the we all know that the firmware and apps take a bit of polishing up for the 8 Gen 1... Not only that. An 8 Gen 1 in a gaming phone is simply awesome. Especially with that A15 beating GPU. - So far the GPU on that 8 Gen 1 is untouchable right now. Not even the A15 can come near it.

                                        Is SD8gen1 a failure? Only 6,5% faster than SD888.
                                        It is 5 years behind A15.

                                        I can just hope, it is faster than this first tests.
