Being familiar with Indian Government, I can see it's literally a joke for them to develop an own sophisticated OS from scratch. I don't believe it will be a success at all and many of their past deed prove it already to be very true.

Thanks to them for aother Joke of the year 😩

An0n, 26 Jan 2022Harmony OS? That's a joke, their codebase is literally... moreI am tired as well to argue with some empty cortex 🤦‍♂️

Harmony has the codebase of Android but that doesn't simply make it android. It was a smart move to still run android application while completely developing their full fledge own ecosystem.

Because when an OS just released, you can't just ask all the devs to port their apps in app gallery in 1 week or so. They will remove android codebase after completing the shift.

I believe being a Micro karnel based OS, harmony has its potential. Since you are happy with your spydroid, how people like you will look outside the box, and welcome something new, lol.

And for the userbase, they don't need to anyway. Because China already is dependent on Huawei, as Chinese people are fine to use thing made by themselves. And don't forget(only if you know though) the support of Chinese Government behind technology.

No product can just be a hit overnight. Maybe slowly they will reach the global market too, just like Android.

Plus even if they develop an OS, they don't ban Android/iOS unlike some 'free countries' that banned some companies

The security concern is well taken. If you want to support a secure OS, support linux Mobian that has all the security controls for the user.

They could just partner with /e/ OS but if their intentions are something else....

Harmony OS? That's a joke, their codebase is literally android. Developing new os is easy, what is hard, it's the ecosystem. No dev, no apps, no users, dead. And there's also a problem to attract people to move to the ecosystem. If I already have everything with my Google and I'm fine with it, what do I gain from the new platform?

[deleted post]Could you not, please? You are embarrassing yourself. There has not been concrete statement. Its all speculation. And as an Indian, have some faith in developers of your country just like CEOs of Google and Microsoft.

They should come up with a alternative to google first something like what china is doing. Replacing android is not a good idea, they should replace services and ends US monopoly
