          Dear HTC

Please freaking listen to your customers. We need storage expansion. And if you're not going to fit your phones with batteries that last, at least allow for removable battery. It's just sad. Seriously. Too much compromise. The lack of memory expansion and removable battery seriously killed it for me.

playForever, 05 Jan 2013It's not marketing problem. It's the problem of not tak... more100% agree with you. If it had a removeable battery and micro SD slot I would have bought it in a heart beat. I don't know why they can't put a SD slot some damn phones like nexus 4 or the HTC DNA. Only Samsung seems to care about their consumers and adding an sd slot. I was thinking of getting the galaxy note 2 because it had 2gb ram and SD slot, but it seems abit too big. Looking for one with a 4.5-5inch HD/Full HD screen.

With Peter Chou remarks I can only say, "Wake-up" or get fired. It was totally a very lame and unacceptable excuse just blaming the poor result of HTC on poor marketing. Most previous HTC customers will say the poor result was due to below,

              1. Poor quality - Think this is the mother to the poor HTC 2012 results. Example the plentiful issues happened on HTC One-X. Even after multiple updates there's still screen issue like flickering, noise band and yellowish problem. Some users in Taiwan happened to have their faulty handset exchange for many times and still end up with problem. Some users claimed his exchanged bad handset upto 6x until finally they gave up on HTC brand.

              2. Unstable call function - This was another unacceptable problem happened on some of the HTC phones like One-X and others. The cellphone would just hang, unable to hear each other at both end of the call, screen black out not displaying anything. All mentioned problems require a phone reboot or worst a phone reset. If HTC couldn't do it right on just the very basic of a cellphone function, what else could we count on HTC?

              3. Buggy HTC Sense UI and limited available system ram - For many years I've think that most of HTC cellphones problem was due to Sense UI. No doubt it's a very good UI, but the problem is, it comes with many bugs that eventually tarnished overall users usage experience.

The Sense UI integrate deeply into the whole HTC cellphones OS. So making 1 single changes to the system software will require lots of efforts, at the same time may have side impact on other system functions if not careful. Because Sense UI deep integration, even the best rom master couldn't removed it all together from the system. I strongly HTC ditches Sense UI for the best interest of your customer's.

Sense UI also occupying lots of ram to run it fulltime to the already very limited system ram on every single HTC phones, except for the new Butterfly series. Think lots of advance users having the same experience with HTC phones, ROOT the phone. Only by doing so, users are able to removed all the bloatwares that come with the system and gain more system running ram, oppose to the limited available ram by default. I would strongly suggest HTC try to built in more ram on your phones. Example, 800x480 = 1 GB, 960x540 or1280x720 = 2GB and 1920x1080 = 3GB. Only by generosity of better built in hardwares spec, especially the system ram, will make customer keep coming back to HTC.

              4. Poor design cellphone - Sometimes some how I've found HTC has chosen very odd design layout for their phones, especiaaly the rear cover of their phones. The recent Butterfly also does not escape from this bad fate. Personally think the rectangular wire stripe on the front of the phone look extremely odd. The old HTC unibody was good, but the problem was they did not put it in good use with oddly design rear facial and sometimes the front facial of the phones too.

              5. Poor battery life - HTC phones has been plagues with this issue on all their flagship phones for many years now. This is something HTC Seriouly needed to solve immediately, or else they will continue to loose their market.

              6. Non replaceable battery and no memory card expansion slot - Both of this are not essential if the cellphone has great standby & usage time, together with enough internal memory..

Last but not least, the first impression is always very essential to anyone. A clean design front to back cellphone are one of the key element. Do it oddly only make people dislike it. And if couple that odd looking with more phone problems factor in, HTC are creating more disaster/crisis to themselves.

Keke, 05 Jan 2013iPhones with limited memory and irreplaceable battery it d... moreWhat a stupid comment!
ofcourse if you choose iOS over android, you only have a few models to choose for and you have no other choice to accept their disadvantages over others. while in android you can choose a tons of model available. So means if i choose android, why i go to htc that dont have a card slot removable battery etc. while their are a tons of other android models available in the market have that features? If i choose between iphone 5 and htc one x ofcourse i will choice iphone 5, why coz they are almost same disadvantage in terms of hardware and i also like iOS too over the laggy android but if i choose between gn2 and iphone 5 ofcourse i buy them all coz i like them both and both fits my needs! iphone 5 i like the OS features and manimore and i like the hardware of note 2 like usb on-the-go, card slot upto 64gb, removable batery etc. I use my iphone 5 for apps while my note 2 for media files. So dont compare apple marketting strategy over htc coz they are far different just accept that they are poor...lol. Its like android and iOS, they are far different lol!

some people love recording 1080p video
and they require a lot of space
16gb/32gb is not enough for them

power is vital for a smartphone. Apple is clever. It never reveal how many mAh it's iphone has. Instead, apple tells how many hours the iphone can stay on.

                          marketing failure? maybe
but late in upgrading? i totally agree

I was torn between htc flyer and samsung tab7+. I actually liked htc flyer because it has stylus. But since it ran on gingerbread (didn;t heard of honeycomb upgrade plan) and samsung tab7+ ran on honeycomb, i chose samsung. And now my samsung tab7+ runs on ICS.
Still, never heard of htc's plan to upgrade flyer.

                          Poor htc

The One X lasts only 4 hours of web browsing or 5:45 hours of video. That is bad compared to their main rivals. It was a bad idea to fit only a 1800mAh battery in it. The One X would've sold more if it had a decent battery.

"Worst probably behind us....2013 should not be too bad" not exactly confident forward looking statements from HTC CEO...and was it really poor marketing or a shear lack of marketing that could have been to blame and isn't that invariably the CEOs responsibility...time for a leadership change at HTC.

If they're never going to listen and fit their phones with batteries that last, at least allow for removable batteries so users can swap/use third-party batteries. It's sad. They even think users prefer design over battery life. Yes facepalm indeed.

I was about to get the Droid DNA when I noticed the lack of memory expansion and a removable battery. That just killed it for me. Bam. Just think about it. It could have been so perfect. I really don't know what's wrong with HTC now.
And please don't tell people how Apple doesn't have a removable battery and memory expansion yet does so well. Apple is Apple. We're Android. One of the reason why we're here is because we NEED those features that Apple fails to provide. That's fine with them. But WE, as power users, need it.

AnonD-97155, 05 Jan 2013Every minute??....say abt no sd card, non removable battery... moreIf you've noticed, even ALL of Samsung's Galaxy phones have a removable battery and have memory expansion. Okay, so they also release phones every minute - but at least they LISTEN to their customers. Every Galaxy phone in the line has features that many users desire - memory expansion and a removable battery.
Okay, look at the HTC Droid DNA. It's specs are amazing and it would have been perfect if it had memory expansion and a removable battery. 16GBs of storage? Seriously? On a flagship smartphone with such powerful specs? HTC have been shooting themselves in their leg and the worst part is they keep on continuing to do so. And please don't tell me how cloud storage makes up for the lack of storage - cloud storage is hardly reliable and also uses much data. Not everyone has an unlimited data plan.

Samsung phones are also slightly more developer-friendly.
The thing is - Samsung does NOT compromise. They actually listen. Unlike HTC who, strangely, still thinks users prefer design over battery life.

Battery life is the reason why I avoided the HTC when I replaced my phone on 2012. HTC decided that thinness is more important than battery life. Obviously they were wrong.
