However, the point is that if your device can be jailbroken, it's never safe. If you're so concerned about security, surely you'll know that attackers do this for a decade. When an attacker wants to install a spyware on an Apple phone, he jailbreaks it and installs it. In most cases, an attacker doesn't want to spy on you forever, if he doesn't get any useful information from you after a few weeks, it's most likely that he will move on.

        I may consider switching to iphone if this goes through. Not being able to install apps from github blows my mind. It's 2022 apple, wake up. Remove cancer jacks, embrace standards, stop trying to be special!!

Once you try to update the software you'll know there is a problem (i.e., regular update is either broken or will break the jailbreak, depending on version and approach). This proposal is another beast entirely -- at the very best you are being coy about the security implications, at worse you are fully aware of its implication and have entered the malicious realm.

As I said, in that case, his employer can jailbreak his phone and install spyware anyway.
