Apple tells US Senate that sideloading apps is unsafe

Cupertino urges Senate to reject an antitrust bill that will allow iPhone users to download apps not on App Store.

    it's not like people are free to do whatever they want with their phone that they overpaid for, god forbid that... they should just let people do it but not cry to apple if anything happens to their phone, they can't cry to anyone else cause phone repair services are going to get fined millions if they touch an iphone in merica without apple's blessing.

      Isn't it their duty to ensure that the side-loaded apps are safe from security threats for users??
      On Android, the security features of the OEM would initially scan the apps that the user wants to install, and then if it deems the said apps free from any security threat, then it wi proceed to the installation process. Simple enough, so I wonder what's preventing Apple from doing the same thing.
      As much as I appreciate the great optimization of iOS, the user experience overall still feels like you don't fully own the phone at all.

        Apple is a clown. It has been one of the most unsafe companies of the last decade. Sideloading means less money. That's the only reason. I love their products, but please, let's not fall into their bs.

          I have jailbroken iphone 3gs 1 decade ago and had every feature and customisation available from cydia store.

              I can only side load 2 apps with altstore, too restricted. Therefore I choose android phone over iphone. It takes too many steps to sideload app on ios. I don't know why people said ios is simple to use.

                              If apple cannot make the top dollar from apps will they charge 5%-15% more per iphone and ipad?
                              They do make good money subscriptions though we will see
