If these are the real prices and the 12ultra will be 1500$ and will
STILL NOT HAVE:
-UnderDisplay Camera
-200W charging that were shown last year
-the 200MP Samsung sensor which was shown last year.
-10x periscope telephoto like Samsung (but with 48MP, not the 10MP from 2012)
then I hope XIAOMI will go bankrupt this year.
They fully deserve it for misleading the public, creating to high expectations and then underdelivering but increasing the prices to Samsung/Apple level and even higher.

Back to 2016, screen was $30-40. Now near $90 for some models like iphone pro.
Single cam system was not even $15. Now can be up to $100 like S21 Ultra.
Back to 2015-2016, the cpu did not cost over $140 per unit.
Brand can use the best parts they can buy and phone end up costing over $550 just the hardware and charger over $1000 for the device or use cheaper parts with " similar" specs to keep hardware costs below $350 and then sell for $550-600.
The 128GB S21 Ultra hardware is $553. This does not include software, certifications, tests, marketing, R&D to design phone etc ..

I miss my Xiaomi MI5 at 450USD.
I do hope another company will take Xiaomi's place in the affordable market of mobile phones!

Brilliant move to use the snap 870 for the 12x, a powerful but battery friendly chip. The price though... if it's around 600€, then ok, but at the 700 range, not really.

This kind of pricing will only drive new users to other cheaper brand and old users to hold on to their old device and skip till next year hoping for a better spec model comes up.

I can't grasp the idea that people are willing to throw over 1000E on a phone. You can get a high end phone for 5-600E, even the iphone 13 is less then 1000E.
In the end the fool is the one how buys not the one who sells.

Why would anyone buy Xiaomi 12X over Samsung S21 which cost same? Crazy prices, should be at least 100-150EUR cheaper, so 450-500EUR release price.

dbjungle, 17 Feb 202212X is still decent value at base config. Otherwise... Xi... moregiven inflation and all and europe prices are high and xiaomi wanting to do high end since mi 10. none of this is surprising. Then again the cell company generally pays a good portion of the phone. ends up that 700-800 euro phones is just around 200 or so over 2 years + 40-60 euros a month. i feel dumb buying my mi 10 given that knowledge now.
