Attila, 14 Jan 2013When I heard PoverVR I was happy. But now I'm confused beca... moreA6X is made for a 9,7" "ipad is not a small mobile.
It's too big, hot and consumes too much battery power in order to be in a phone.

So it is unfair to compare A6X GPU on a phone customized GPU.

It's not all about the specs. For almost everyone except for full time benchmarkers, the GPU is good enough for pretty much everything. It's more important that the overall phone experience is excellent. That is what Samsung (and Android in general) excels at. Leave the useless spec battles to others.

Even if they go fot the same one they put in the Nexus 10, they just won't be able to beat the A6X. You can clearly see that from the off-screen benchmarks.

It's all the online tech blogs who have been branding and hyping this up as an octo-core CPU ever since the news about an upcoming big.Little chip became official arnd last November! Now, they (in this case Anandtech) have circulated another hyped up rumor that Exynos 5 Octa will feature a PowerVR GPU and as expected it's spreading like wildfire! The main purpose is to get as many hits to their respective sites with such sensational "news",till Samsung finally launches the SGS4 or any device with the Exynos 5 Octa! Such power words like Galaxy S4, Exynos 5 Octa, big.Little etc. are guaranteed to draw visitors to the websites! Simple!

                    OpenGL is pretty good though.

V should take this 4 what it's worth - it's a RUMOR! I seriously doubt Samsung are gonna go 4 anything less than stellar to be mated with their most advanced Exynos part till date and I really don't recall flagship Samsung phones or Exynos SOCs using PowerVR GPUs. Samsung are ARM'S first and foremost partners in development and I daresay a Mali 600 series GPU will be lurking inside the Exynos 5 Octa!

I have calculated, based on he alleged performance of a 300 MHz sgx544mp2 that this could outperform the A6X by some 20% in terms of graphics (if the 533 MHz rumor is correct). Pretty impressive if it will be inside the Galaxy S4.

someone talked about true octa-core cpus, it's not so easy to make cheap true 8-core cpus for a mobile phone as the size of the cpu is already small so the percentage of usable cpus is not gonna be worth it. check how a cpu is manufactured on google and you will understand what I mean, this is the reason why they have 3-core and 6-core cpus, they are failed quad and octa that are not thrown away

[deleted post]I think buy now all these mindless arguement would stop man, im still rocking a blackberry 9700 as my daily driver. But when it comes down to it, i rather see the entire phone or performance results of the said CPU/GPU, whether it be tegra 4, Qualcomm, Exynos etc. before beginning to make fun of others or bash others.

None of us know how any of those chips will truly perform, so why all the bashing.

If i can remember correctly, the same arguements persued when apple released the A6X as the A6 successor, and persons were bashing it before they knew the true potential of it.

Lets just be patient and wait and see how each chip perform.

This octa core will fight with the new processor on iPhone 5s, right?

iOS have a very good optimization, a dual-core is near of a quad-core. This octa-core will have a brutal processor power but if the comments say that the gpu isnt good at all so the performance not will the best after all.

GPU its very important this days
