MCM is a concept for a long time. The idea was mainly got from both Nvidia's and Amd's multiple gpu architecture with a bandwidth rate like sli or nvlink. Even it's not a physical thing now, similar design approach already a thing in AMD's chiplet design for cpu. All these principles are same. And Apple literally copied that. Unless you don't know about these.
Now about sli and nvlink. It just showed how much amateur you're about higher tech stuffs. Didn't you even watch Nvidia's rtx 3000 series event? Surely you didn't. Jensen clearly mentioned that. Sli in dual channel has a bandwidth of 325 GB/s on 650 hz and nvlink on ampere architecture has a bandwidth of 1.8 TB. You might be talking about the speed of the sub links 🤣👍
This completely OK for Apple users. As Apple fooled you guys about dram bandwidth of their m1 SoC previously. Lol.

Not a lot of people can fathom out the quality of life one gets when a computer runs multiple apps, doing lots of stuff simultaniously but it stays cool and silent as if it only runs a calculator app. Many people here give the impression that having computers with several fans that consume the same power like an oven and all that to get just a few percentage points of higher performance than a M1 Mac is the way to do computing in 2022.

This dialogue is trying to prove that M1 already has better single core performance. But that is not the case. Probably the 12th Gen i9 will beat it by 70-80% at least.
Apple just need to make a bigger core then they will be able to crush any other CPU on market.

This speaks volumes about its engineering considering NVIDIA has been making graphics cards for over 20yrs.

While M1 Max Score is 309.
Have you seen the size of fans and power draw of 3080? M1 is doing that in 45W while RTX uses 350W. M1 quite literally crushes 3080 for the thermal envelope, not to mention the loud noise of 3080.

That is pure BS. The Ultra fuses 2 Max together gaining 20.8 TFLOPs, round this off to 21 TFLOPs. The RTX3090 is crunching 35 TFLOPs.
But don't get the wrong idea. At 21 TFLOPs, the graphics prowess is among the top dogs of RTX3080/3070, AMD 6900/6800XT. They are all very powerful graphics for many tasks. This is very useful and a great bump for the M1 series processors.

I literally said, "although it's still based on A-series SoCs that they have been developing for a decade already" in my previous comment. Can you read?

They are indeed very similar in concepts, except they have yet to release any products that feature MCM design. Also, these two companies will be using it to connect multiple GPUs only, whereas Apple has used the interposer to connect two SoCs.

UltraFusion architecture promises up to 2.5TB/s of bandwidth, whereas those two are 2GB/s and 200GB/s in the best cases, respectively. I wouldn't even bother bringing them up on this topic.

Can see the Mac Studio useful for a few select people tbh.
But this is a desktop, so most of the M1's uses are less appealing. It's better to just build a PC
