People who believe that ARM is the future for desktop computing really needs to have their brain checked. x86-x64 CPU is still mighty relevant in terms of upgradability. Very few people want to upgrade their ARM-powered laptop every year. That is literally planned obsolescence in play.

Where Apple designs similar SoC for decades. And it's nothing but copy paste of Nvidia's, amd's mcm design. Even Nvidia's sli or nvlink was like this. And people who provoked Apple about these are still legit lol. Apple these chips are even irrelevant for many Mac users as well.

When Macs used to have mediocre hardware, fan used to defend them by saying things like "CPU benchmarks aren't everything". Some of them used to install Hackinstosh on stronger hardware. Now that Apple is in the lead, as far as CPU is concerned, they, the fans, can't stop bragging about it.
Right now they defend Apple by saying Macs aren't for gaming but If game developers started releasing their games for Macs then they will brag about it too.

It's amazing how they managed to scale up the core counts so efficiently, and this is their first generation M-series SoC (although it's still based on A-series SoCs that they have been developing for a decade already). I wonder what happened to people who were saying "Apple is screwed because ARM architecture would be only suited for low power mobile CPU" or something like that back when M1 was announced.

Hopefully that's a typo or this is a horribly slow computer.

Sounds like nice hardware, but why? Apple and Google are both moving towards building disposable cloud client appliances with no use for fast hardware. The OS is locked down, the hardware is soldered down, and the manufacturer says they own all your software.
