However, what you can actually do from Day 1, is to hide the ports so they're not visible.
We can have a glass or plastic slider which slides, or which is 'raised', to expose the ports. Downside would be that back cover compatibility would be gone, or you'll have to remove the cover to access the ports, but something better than nothing I guess?

Lithium ion cells, granted they're non recyclable.
But they do have a secondary use after they're expired. I think they're used in some "Stationary storage" or something like that.
Anyhow, coming to the topic, I hope Oppo releases this info for all to see and use in their products. Its an Earth issue, they can make an exception.

Oppo is true innovator. I have x2pro and holding by beer for x5pro as there is no global launch of this phone I will never again buy a Chinese variant of any phone. Please Oppo...

So we got smart, adaptive, self-healing and a bunch of other hype words.
But absolutely nothing saying what it actually does.. so as far as I am concerned, just a bunch of marketing rubbish that probably has little to no support in the actual physics and chemistry of the cells themselves.

Practically pointless as Oppo would already stop supporting your phone in 2 or 3 years.

cyber, 19 Mar 2022portless phones are daydreaming,if your os crshes tell me h... moreAnd how would you do it on Android phone using cable unless you had USB debugging enabled ahead of hard phone crash? Which 99% of users do not do, ever... Not to mention when phone fails it's rarely OS at fault, it's usually some hardware fault that prevents it from working.
It will suck when phones become 100% portless unless you drop it 55 times a day into water, but you can be sure when Apple does it, all the other copy cat clown companies will do the same.

partly true, 19 Mar 2022yes, the physical description of the charging and dischargi... moreMost helpful is limiting of charge to ~80% and "slow" charging with discharge never going al the way down to 0% (usually at least 20% left is best). I'm charging my iPhone XR from new to only 80% and I'm doing it with regular 5V 2.4A charger. It's been over 3 years now and it still lasts me through days exactly the same as new. Battery wear says 95%, though I don't know how accurate it is. Unless battery will suddenly spiral into degraded state, I don't see it unreasonable to have same old battery in 5-6 years old device and still not really notice any difference. If you want to use device for long, taking a bit care for battery can dramatically extend its life. I think I read some study where 80% charging routine pretty much doubles the number of battery cycles.

B... moreYou will never see phone with 60, 80, 100, 120 or 200W charging at 30-32 degrees.
Man i wouldnt be that sure.
Since this tech by Oppo exist someone else will take it onto the table / lab and in next 3 years it will evolve into a 20% battery capacity loss in 6400 cycles with 300W charging speeds.
In curent or present modern world where this day technnology is old tommorow and very old in next week or month this could be normal.

xiaomi already described similar magic technology in the 10ultra battery last year, but the reality of the battery life looked completely different and very bad.
thermal ageing cannot be outwitted in the current lion technology.

The whole process is called degradation of materials. Such marketing messages come out every year and it only works in computer animations.
Physics cannot be outwitted, not even with the best marketing tools. Several important factors play a role in ageing, but the most important is the heat generated during charging and the heat of the environment, which causes the batteries to deteriorate as the electrolyte dries out. This is also the reason why research is being done on solid state batteries (electrolytes).

Once they do achieve it, these chargers and tech could become obsolete as these companies would compete on who copies apple first.
