I'd still take overnight charging as I don't use my phone at night.

Because people are spending way to much time on social media (TicTok, WhatsApp, Instagram etc) and pay to win mobile games, that their phones are not left alone long enough without being used, to allow for over-night charging to be a thing any more. Which is why fast charging is actually becoming the preferred way of charging. Which is a pretty sad state of affairs the human race sadly finds itself in...

Its strange that we cannot select the wattage we want when do charging. Sometimes we want it fast, sometimes not.
I think its something possible when we use type-C port.

My oneplus 9 5G charged really fast, however it’s battery life died just as fast. Lol worst phone I bought recently.

I started practicing the 40-80% rule on my Pixel 3 and three years later, no battery degrade on it. It's the same as when I first got it. I'm used to doing shallow charges multiple times per day thanks to a 25,600 mAh Sherpa PD100 that's always with me in my car since 2019.
It's good to know more modern Chinese smartphones now have 1600 battery life cycles. That's 3x more than iPhones with 500 cycles until it goes to 80% capacity. I have a Flip 3 and Razr 5G and plan to use them for 10 years since practicing the 40-80 rule.
I like the Flip 3 having a 85% charge limit. This will help prolong its life as well as being more of my gaming/emulation phone since that's mostly offline activity. After 7 months, no noticeable degradation yet. The browser is usually the first to go the older a phone gets

". At two years old a mobile GPU will be noticeably lacking in capabilities compared to new models. So, even if the battery is as fresh as the day it came out of the factory, the device will not be a great gaming phone anymore."
Are you're saying a Snapdragon 865 is bad at gaming in 2022?

I thought I would be contented with 18W charging after I transitioned from Micro USB to Type-C. But now that I am using a phone with 30W charging, I desire more. I want my next to have at least 100W charging speed.

You can go sell this nonsense to someone else quite frankly because there is NO way that battery is the same as it was when new with such charging.

Olympus Oms, 03 Apr 2022A charge several times a day. yea brands should have stopped when they hit those crazy 120w and above chargers and started focusing on how to make it useful...meaning, up the capacity. If a 5000mAh battery had

Anonymous, 03 Apr 2022In current standards 30-40W will do, as long as the battery... morethe highest that's reasonable is 65 from bbk, 66 from Huawei, 67 from Xiaomi and 68 from Motorola. All these 120, 150, and 200 watt ones are just unreasonable

A recent survey by the research firm Nielsen found that only one in five consumers says they're likely to buy a product because it can be charged over night. This is in stark contrast to how overnight charging was once seen as a selling point for a product. In fact, almost two-thirds of respondents said that charging a product over night isn't a major factor when deciding whether or not to buy it. “avraham chaim kerendian”

I get the feeling that turbo charging is more damaging to the battery. The manufacturers love that of course, so you have to come back and buy a new phone sooner.
