It is losing revenue because of the practice.

I spend more time on YouTube or watching HBO on Spectrum TV app. Both are FREE. The paid streaming services are all overrated. Just download Moon Knight and The Batman from torrent sites.

Siddhant Pandey, 20 Apr 2022How would they do it, that's the question. They can ad... moreEach login has ip address associated with it. Every ip address is traceable to an approximate location. Its very easy to tell whether there are 5 people logged in within your house, or whether your friend, in a different house, uses your account.

Mobile phones have dynamic ips, but towers they're connected to, all have static ips. So its also easy to tell whether your mobile phone, that's currently not connected to wifi, is in approximately the same area as your home wifi.

So now the plan that costs £14 a month in the UK is basically useless for most people. And I'm not paying £6 a month to watch films in 480p. We're not living in the 80s. Netflix are just going to lose even more subscribers now because a lot of people can't afford individual subscriptions.

Am courious how would they do that in IPv6 era. Also where MAC is not really something secure enough to be besed on. Let's see how they loose customers🤘🏻. Or well, they will change the subscription plans limiting the ones that are now to whatever crapp or forcing them to buy more to stop having problems... still loosing clients. Well i hope they loose enough so to start real movie companies to make real movies again...just saying...

Nun6ix they should be looking at reducing the pricing ranges instead of cracking down on password sharing. every other person left because they joint forces to share an account and share the subscribed amount.

Well I'm from India and here Amazon Prime video and Disney+ costs 1499 INR for one year.
Comparing to Netflix which costs 649 INR per month , it's a very common practice here for 4 people to pool money to get Netflix.
If Netflix in the future won't allow that , it could loose majority of its market in India I think.

This is also likely to create more problems if other streaming platforms allow it.

So the Netflix don't know their subscriber base. Many people pool the money to get a subscription because they're not regular users but would like to watch a movie once in a while. They'll simply drop the platform altogether. Good luck with that foolish decision
