i would buy a smartwatch if they looked and felt like real analog watches. because they all look cheap with plastic watch bracelets and simple deisgn (the body looks like a coin). till now, the huawei watch 3 pro is my favourite with watch-like design and platinum bracelet. but let's see how the smartwater market will develop.

Bebochekov, 08 May 2022I respectfully disagree, my mi band 4 went 10 without a cha... moreBut that's exactly what I say. You use everything it can do, but a modern smartwatch does much, much more. And just because you don't need more it does not mean the band is comparable to smartwatch.
For sport activities you need a large display to see different data. No band can offer that. Your band can do 10 days of a single charge, but with everything it relies on the phone. Smartwatch can do many things on their own (pay services, GPS, motion tracking, apps...)

Even right now it's not really a dealbreaker for me

I really don't see the point of a smart watch. It's an inferior version of the phone in your pocket

I previously had AWS6 but there were just too much bells and whistles in it that I actually rarely use. Not that its bad or anything, but let's just say some people do prefer straight forward fitness watch. and I tried Fitbit specifically the Charge 5 and seems it has everything I need in a small package. Has been using it for my daily exercise. Happy and satisfied. = )

Would you take into consideration EKG measured by Apple or Samsung? I know I would not.
Other than that, I agree, that's the reason I am using them for a long time.

Now I never miss a call and can reply faster to messages. I don't have to keep my phone in the same room with me. My wife always forgets where she put her phone and the band allows her to find it easily. I also watch the heart rate as I'm not young anymore. We just got the MI band 6 and it has a few more things we can use. Like the flash light. It's small, you can wear it all the time, take a shower or go swimming, wash dishes. For my wife and I a band does all the things we need, I feel a watch would be a waste, with all those things we don't need and you have to charge it every day, and they cost way much more.

Darknoor, 08 May 2022Smartwatches are overrated.
A band does all the basics and... moreA typical "band" does about a ten times less than average smartwatch, and about a hundred times less than some top level watch (Apple, Samsung, Garmin Fenix etc.)
Limited usability, limited battery time, limited display, that's what defines the bands. Waste of materials.

They can do so many stuff and make life easier, they are not trying to replace analogue watches but are trying to enhance what a watch can do

Rotciv Ikias, 08 May 2022Point of Correction they can do deep health features not ju... moreThey can't, they can't even measure your steps accurately.
If you take ... AW for example - what are the correct stats it can measure:
1) time
2) pretty decent accuracy when it comes to heart rate (really decent, actually)
3) GPS with decent enough accuracy
4) absolutely nothing else + EKG useless accuracy, step based on accelerometer, sleep tracking ... what a joke etc.
Smartwatches are great as a really rough estimate of your activity, but they never reached acceptable accuracy in fields like EKG, temperature, SpO2, sleeptracking etc.
A perfect description of stat displayed on a smartwatch is "guesstimates".
