Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 unveiled: 30% more efficient, 10% faster

"Prime core at 3.2GHz, Gold cores at 2.75Ghz, Silver cores at 2.0GHz. This is up from 3.0GHz, 2.5GHz and 1.8GHz, respectively."
The frequency increase is so random, that the improvements in efficiency and speed must be a chip redesign. The X Cores are terribly energy inefficient anyway, and probably the ones causing the most overheating issues.
OEMs could have better results with better heat management. Maybe the new clock rates and redesign wasn't needed.

Anders, 20 May 2022"To get these improvements Qualcomm had to move foundr... moreSo because they have a marginal improvement....especially much further down the road after longer time to get it ready somehow means samsung sucks? Even though they are one of the biggest and best around.....
Well that's not fanboy fun knowledge at all...

"To get these improvements Qualcomm had to move foundries – the process is still labeled as “4nm”, though it comes from TSMC rather than Samsung."
Excellent news. Samsung truly sucks at making chips. Qualcomm should only use TSMC
