Monday evening around 8PM EST I re-booted my LG V20 H918, and the problem was gone. I think that the issue may have had something to do with the config file that is sent to the phone when it is turned on or rebooted, and periodically thereafter (24 hours intervals.) This is just a guess. More than likely the "fix" had to be rolled out to all the cell sites which also happens on a scheduled basis. Anyone still having this issue should simply restart their phones, and hopefully it will be solved.
I did some experimenting during the "outage" and found that my V20 H918 when rolled back to Android 7.0, worked fine. I used the LG Switch App to make a backup before I rolled back the firmware, and then restored it after the downgrade. I have several LG phones and periodically checked on another phone that was running Android 8.0 to see if the problem was fixed. It definately takes a re-start to clear the problem.

I hope this doesnt do it again. The error lg ims message on my phone was annoying. I had my phone for 1 year i was bout to give it back to metro when i heard it was a glitched.

No. Neither tmobil nor metro fix it. No resetting my phone either (lost) my phonebook. Metro chats no avail either.

This is FALSE - none of what has been recommended has worked to resolve the issue. It has been days and the error is still occurring. TMobile is about to lose a very long standing customer. Their response was' you can buy an upgrade'. Absolutely poorest response I could have possibly received.
