perfect would be - 5.7-6 inch screen, 1080 resolution, flat with 90hz refresh. the rest are just gimmicks. i can't abide HDR it makes everything look photoshoppped (un-natural). properly toughened glass on the screen only (am fed up with the back cracking because it should be metal/plastic).

Perfect display for me on a high-end flagship:
- minimum QHD+ resolution (FHD is for mid-range phones)
- minimum 400 PPI density
- AMOLED (without burn-ins)
- variable refresh rate
- flat display
- tougher glass
- NO HOLES IN THE DISPLAY!!! I'd rather have no selfie camera or have bigger, but symmetrical bezels.

If we think we have 4k video recording on phone at least we should have QHD+ with over 500ppi and should be Oled 144hz or 120hz flat or lots of doing curved but I don't care.

I was using the HD option on S7, just because I figured out I can't spot the difference if I don't watch it from like 1 centimeter

The last thing you need to worry about screen resolution these days. 1600x720 is more than you need, there is barely difference if you go to 1080p and going beyond 1080p is no difference in image quality at all, just a waste of power and gpu resources. There is a reason switch and steam deck stuck to 720p :)

Countless tests have shown that resolution doesn't matter when it comes to battery life, so why people wpuld be finr with FHD is beyond me.
Also, while flat displays are infinitely more durable and practical, curved ones are infinitely more beautiful.
Also, people say FHD is fine, bit then choose amoled over lcd, despite the former still being prone to burn in. "Oh but it looks better". Really? So does QHD, and guess what, it doesn't have any negative impact whatsoever.

1. Most of people dont even know what is or how HDR work
2. Resolution depend on size of screen and quality of it.
3. Good quality LCD is better than some cheaper AMOLED.
4. 10bit screen is good on TV or monitor when you deal with media content or edit them.
5. Refresh rate depend on content really, minimum should be... 1 or 10 as it should be DYNAMIC. beside on phone 90 is enough as average person would not notice difference between 90 and 120
Most of those features would be omitted unless person see it written on the box.
You can put 4K OLED HDR 240hz screen on phone and not mention it and people will complain that its not 4k OLED HDR 240hz because in real life they dont see the difference...

I have qhd+ HDR curved screen AOD amoled.it does not make difference at all.also don't see hdr difference, either.don't use AOD.hd+ flat amoled is just fine for a smartphone not putting uncessary pressure on battery
