Apple Leadership - Lack of Authentic , Lack of integrity.

"They designed a magnetic connector - MagSafe. Cool.
Apple Studio Display has non-removable cable...

They were "brave" to remove the headphone jack from iPhones. Not "brave" enough to remove it from MacBooks. You could buy the great Airpods Max, you certainly have the money.

They removed the charger from iPhones, because they care for the environment. Macbooks? Nah, keep the charger, environment can handle it."

The marketing feels lack of Authentic, integrity.

They probably just boasting, don't have integrated Brand direction.
    All diversified, not unified.
Too much to be integrated, out of sync,

    Finally, Lack of continuity.

Lightning has only one problem, it was not designed for high power. It makes no problem for iPhone, it is a problem for iPad. No other reason.

Glad to hear this and hopefully applied Worldwide. Lightning and VOOC at least will be RiP for good, while we're waiting which fast charging standard would be used, I guess it's PD.

that being said, the 30-pin that Apple used back then were already horrible and shows it's age, so Apple themselves designed a new proprietary connector long before USB-C development, they already start developing Lightning port connector for mobile.

the only reason why Apple uses Lightning and instead USB-C on their mobile devices are all political and economically motivated. they wanted control and control is all they'd get. you could see that until recently, iPads and iPhones all would use Lightning, while their Macs device uses USB-C. they're never intend to port Lightning with USB 3.0 standard, nor implement it on Laptop. they just want a walled garden on their mobile devices, which are easier to control.

there's a reason why iPad Pro uses USB-C connector and not Lightning, be my guests, and why do you think is that?

On one hand I am glad that certain companies are forced to stop putting ridicolous ports on their devices just to trap people inside some stupid ecosystem. And I think USB C is a very well designed port, certainly it is a huge upgrade to the micro usb "standard" before it.

But this legislation is obviously really, really bad if you care about innovation. How long will USB C be an adequate port? If in 10 years advances in battery technology, data transfer or anything else will make a different port design superior, that has now a significantly lower chance of being adopted.
Imagine the legislation had occured a decade ago and mandated micro USB. *That* would have been awful.

The EU are ridiculous in doing this.
Apple will just do wireless charging.....and make more money and eletronic waste.
USB will be superseded in a few months by most manufacturers.
They will all go wireless to get around the law.
The clue is just don't by Apple phones....for the EU.
So lots of USB mini phones go to waste.
There is more to worry about than a charging cable.
This law will only create electronic waste not stop it.
                                      Bizarre.

Even if companies don't reduce the price by a single cent I am glad they do it.

If you really need a charger, then order one with your phone. Really easy solution to the problem.
