But they pay full price for the Chinese factories to manufacture and assemble stuff for them. If Apple is gone this moment, US government will still get basically zero tax from these corporations. But Chinese manufacturers would lose a huge client. It would eventually spread out to other vendors grabbing the share, but still, it would be a pretty big hit for Chinese business, far greater than for American one.

But people for unknown reason need to say it was all to increase iphone sales.

Fall of Apple would impact much more China than USA.

DMX, 22 Jun 2022You order it online and yahm for everything they make a fus... moreNot if you are in the USA and on AT&T. AT&T whitelists the phones that can activate VoLTE. The only way phones not whitelisted can work is if they are set to not do a carrier check for the feature first. Xiaomi has it baked in as a feature switch. OnePlus has certain phones that you may activate it on. It's frustrating as there's so many more phones available in the world that do have the bands that can work on AT&T, but there's this hard artificial restriction. I got lucky during the 3G shutdown because I have a Xiaomi phone. My mother had to switch to T-Mobile due to her ZTE Axon 10 Pro.

Because somehow Apple totally affects anything Android. And Google being American too, they have equal presence in the US market in terms of support for payments and other gadgetry as well as app support. I have yet to see any service that is strictly on iOS and nowhere else. Everyone that actually gives two f**ks about users offers service on Android and iOS. Literally NO ONE is stopping you just using Android smartphone. And if you do, I can't see a reason why or how Apple's presence would be hindering your experience. And if blue and green bubbles are the peak issue, then I basically rest my case.

And maybe people in the USA also are not that dumb to buy an overhyped Chinese toy.

hellotheree, 22 Jun 2022It must be so limiting being a consumer in the US market. S... moreUS has weird combination of everything going through their 2 ? big carriers (Verizon and T-Mobil). In my country people buy phones through carriers too, but I have a feeling like bunch of people just buy phones on open market and just stick the SIM from whatever carrier in it and call it a day. I've had few phones through carriers and it's so stupid by being forced to have some ridiculous plans and restricted to that ISP for usually 2 years. I currently have a phone bought in retail and a plan with unlimited calls and SMS and 60GB of data for 10€ a month. For just 2€ more I could get a plan with 100GB of data... It's zero obligation carrier, if I feel like it I can ditch them this moment and not have any penalties. Or I can flip between plans freely once a month. It's cheap and super flexible to a point I'd never ever go with anything else.
