Anonymous, 04 Jul 2022Here you go: corephotonics.com/technologies/increasing-the... moreThough one needs to say that the article isn't completely correct. Smartphones began to use larger sensors in 2018, not in 2016. It started with the Huawei P20 Pro's 40mm² sensor. Previously, there were only a few smartphones on the market with 30mm² sensors. Though one needs to say that the P20 Pro main camera didn't have OIS (the specs here are wrong, it didn't have OIS according to Huawei's official specifications, ifixit just assumed (!) that there is OIS hardware and one speculated that Huawei disabled it, if there were really elements of OIS hardware in the main camera, some journalists made the mistake of writing OIS in the specifications without looking at the official specs)

blue, 04 Jul 2022Better then Xperia pro? In which timeline? The Pro-I only uses a part of the sensor. It has only a 2x optical zoom. The selfie camera is only 8 MP. The screen brightness is below average. The battery life is just okay. The SoC is two generations older. And it's much more expensive. Use your brain.

Weren't you guys just going bonkers over the last camera from Xiaomi? Huawei was out the pic and Xiaomi was taking over as the "best" mobile camera. I recall the buzz and comments. All of this without a 50 million dollar colab with Leica.

                Spec chaser logic.

In Europe this translates to 2 years minimum.

If someone imports the phone from China for example,if something happens to this expensive phone, it has only 1year warranty from the place you bought it(aliexpress etc), which is not that great.

Last time such phones wandered outside mainland China, the company responsible was decapitated on the public place. Xiaomi knows this, and that's a risk they're not willing to take.

Personally, I'll gladly import one. Better than anything western-available brands has to offer. Not available so considerably more exclusive, almost exotic. The ultimate flex.

And regarding warranty, well, I am the warranty. I'm software support too.

Also, to every moron talking non sense, NO, the Snapdragon inside is made by TSMC, not by the hand-heater division of Samsung. So you can expect considerably lesser power consumption and temperatures.

Super exclent phone , i wish xiaomi use Dimensity more ,hot snapdragons enough!
see 12s ultra exactly here , really beautiful

In the end, what'll make the downfall of this phone is the Snapdragon chip that is a heat diffuser ... And for a phone only sold in China, I don't understand why they didn't went with Mediatek. Perhaps trouble for delivering 'drivers/programming' and such? Adding that there is only 2 or 3 years of upgrades, for a 1000$ devices, that's a bit low on offering. They need to work on that if they want to succeed in EU on the premium scale.
