If ASUS wants to make it different, they can also change the camera layout: one 24mm and one 72mm.

It really has all the features in a reasonable size. The slightly bigger battery with the chipset will hopefully lead to competitive battery life in its class. Bravo Asus.

I can't believe it. Just when I lost all hope for a upper class compact phone Asus gives us:
-6"ish screen (5.9" even better)
-Power efficient SD 8+ Gen 1
-Big battery with 4300mAh
-Attractive design with metal frame
-Good camera with 6-axis OIS
-3.5mm headphone jack
-In-button fingerprint reader
Way to go ASUS, I'll buy it the day it comes out.

All I need to know now is how well the phone will manage the heat. The only reason why I haven't jumped on Zenfone 8 even with severely discount price lately is because of all the horror stories about the phone overheating even with minimal load on the chip. And I hope the price won't be too expensive right out of the gate.

But i agree that it's still too big to be a compact. Iphone mini is a compact phone as it's 13.1cm tall. Even Iphone SE 2022 with 13.8cm can be said as compact but cause of it's large bazels and only 4.7inch screen in it makes it a bit too large
