It has no b20 band, which is the mostly used LTE/4G band in Germany. It does not make any sense to import it because of that, even if I really wanted that phone.

Xiaomi flagships are only aiming at photography/videography,but still they all have an incomplete experience of what it takes
There are alot to work on here including the ultra, and I think MIUI updates won't be enough to solve all these issues.
Actually if i wanna spend alot only on a phone,I did rather grab the 22ultra(indeed a complete package, though not the best, neither the worst).

Stock Android, 10 Jul 2022Xiaomi should come up with a stock Android flagship. They did it, apparently it failed, it will never happen again.

Nah, not after the need for a computer to remove bloatware/unwanted apps. And it's a huge struggle with unit lock/unlock on reselling the phones. 5 times xiaomi, never xiaomi again.

12s but without miui with SDcard, 3.5mm with some advances features and focused on sound quality instead on cameras setups witch is, sadly, selling point for mediocre users in general, and 5inch display.

Cah Nglayab, 10 Jul 2022If this phone have 1TB of storage, than yes I really wish I... morePetty sure UFS 3.1 tops out at 512GB, you'd have to settle for 1TB UFS 3.0, or iPhone NVMe

NickValok, 10 Jul 2022Xiaomi makes 2 to 3 Android updates, and the security patch... moreThis makes no sense. Security update only 2-3 years old? Uh? Also what bugs are there that Samsung or Apple took longer to fix than Xiaomi? I'd really like to hear that one...

I'd like to try out the 12S Ultra for myself. I'd like to see how Sony's 1" Quad Bayer sensor and Leica optics fares up. Of course Sony did put a 1" sensor before with the 2021 Xperia Pro-I, but it's rather unfair to compare those two together since that Sony runs on Snapdragon 888 while the 12S Ultra runs on Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ and 8 Gen 1/1+ has a more advanced ISP than 888. If Sony makes a second-gen version of the Xperia Pro-I with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1/1+, that'll be worth comparing those two together.

With Ultra ugly as hell, and the two others overpriced for a Xiaomi with low end support, who even cares?

There must be a high premium price joke on these phones,Sony sensors aren't cheap !!
Say its a £100 hike,,well at that price, you can buy a very capable REAL Leica camera from ebay etc,Leica V-Lux 140 are about a £100,tiny little thing, but with proper 50x optical zoom lens + 10x digital zoom,so 60x zoom possible,a decent old digi camera will take much better pics than any phone can, magnitudes of difference in light gathering capability of the lenses between "real" camera and a phones camera.
Doesnt matter how good the sensor or post processing,if the lens just can't deliver many photons of light, then the sensor etc has little to work with.

SShock, 10 Jul 2022No, and only because of legendary bad software support. Wha... moreAre you joking? My Mi 10 Pro consistently get updates faster than my Z Fold 2, both running SDM865. Also, MIUI have privacy features comparable to Android 12's since MIUI 12.

The 12S is a lovely size for people like me that like more compact phones. However, the 12X would do me fine with the SD870, and no doubt better battery life, with the same dimensions.
However, like others, I won't tolerate MIUI. If it receives custom ROM support, then I'd consider it. However, it's probably too expensive for a cheap skate like me.

I haven't seen any reviews yet.
But seeing the camera bump on Ultra, it's a no go.
12S seems good to me.
Also while buying high price phone I would think about security and updates where Xiaomi lacks.
If 12S is under 600$.. It's a go... If not then no.

No, and only because of legendary bad software support. What’s the point of throwing all the best hardware at it and then not care about the OS running on it. Sure, it has Android 12 now (and even at this point it lacks Android 12’s new Privacy fratures) with no idea what will you even get in the future, if anything. That’s a bad promise for phones that cost 1000€ and more. And I don’t even hate MIUI, I actually like it. Xiaomi generally makes reliable hardware, why do they need to be such a stinker software wise. If they just put in some effort and they could be a serious competition to Samsung and even Apple. Instead they fall short even against Oppo, Realme and OnePlis, because those at least have an updates guarantee now.
