Tim , 29 Jul 2022Waiting for Apple to implement this feature in the best way... moreThe best way possible is by using Knox. So, that ain't happening.
Samsung is sandboxing the logged on user in a temporary account while your data is left encrypted on the device.

Some people think that microSD is old school, now imagine all of your sensitive and embarassing pics/vids would be safe in your hand for the duration of repair, oh well... I guess it's too lame.

                  True, good and useful feature.

That's actually a pretty cool and useful feature to bring, not having to reset the phone to have it repaired or possibly other reasons very similar to that would be a incredibly convenient

Huawei already had this feature a long time ago. It is called maintenance mode. Had my p30 pro's battery replaced due to age and I dont have to worry about my files being snooped by the repair guy

NeonLight, 29 Jul 2022By the looks of it they're testing it on older devices... moreBy means of testing it on older phones that BADLY need to be repaired, they should've released this first on the Galaxy S20 series instead of the S21, as those phones are plagued with green line issue occurring at almost no certain period or phenomena. But I bet that it'll be useless anyway since Samsung will simply refuse to repair these phones for free even if it is a well-known and widespread problematic issue among many users and that many of them attest to taking great care of the phone, including my sister who had it recently, but the phone itself looks perfectly flawless all around.

All my repairs have been: faulty motherboard or faulty screen.
In other words, no way to enable this mode at that stage.
Could it be triggered via USB / ADB?

What if the service man bypass the repair mode and get the information and then turn on the repair mode just like before ? Question is, will it be secure?

Seems like a good useful feature
