SShock, 19 Aug 2022That's very respectable job Samsung. Going above and b... moreLol, $100 Redmi 1S is still getting updates in its 4th year (it's big update not minor fixes like this). You know this is a flagship? Only 1 year apart.

420 Megabytes for a single GPS stability improvement?
Yeah right.
They probably loaded a ton of bloatware + spyware updates into those 420 MB.

I remember the GPS issues when the S8 came out and how everyone complained about it. It seems like Samsung hadn't forgotten, lol.

Steve Madden, 19 Aug 2022Maybe it's some kind of GPS security fix I remeber ... moreI remember how the iPhone 4s and 5 got iOS 9.3.6 and 10.3.4 way later because of a GPS date rollover that would render GPS useless without the update, like Y2k

That's very respectable job Samsung. Going above and beyond to keep devices up to date. All the Chinese vendors could learn a thing or two or five and a half from Samsung...

Hope it won't cripple my s8, it still rocks, even with that buggy One UI 1.0. xD

Maybe it's some kind of GPS security fix
I remeber something happening back in time for some bleeding exploit or whatever where old phones like the S4 got updated

Cool, updating through smartswitch downloads the whole firmware again resulting less chances of buggy update,
Unless update itself contains the planned obsolescence ✌️
