I literally still have Redmi 1s (my first Android phone) and it still stucks on Android Kitkat from 2013.
Redmi 4x (my second Android) is also worse, it only gets 1 OS upgrades from marshmallow to nougat.
Glad i move to Samsung in 2020. Will never use Xiaomi brands again. In 2026, people will be able to have newest Android even with Samsung phone from 2022.

This is how smartphone makers ruin your phone and force you to buy another one. You are using a phone from 4 years and suddenly one update comes and 3 months after installing it you get a major software breakdown. Samsung and Apple expert in this.

Last one I had to download myself and somehow splice it with some custom CUST file for it to even accept the new update. It was so weird...

I regret of not buying S8 a year after it launched at a discounted price.....someone adviced me to go for a newly launched midranger instead of buying a year old flagship.....I really missed all the features of a flagship even the quad hd screen and camera too.....I have gone for A8+ at that time.

Also Mate 20 Lite which is an entry level have EMUI 12
So 5 years for Mate 10 PRO and 4 years for Mate 20 Lite
I think is not bad

Still rocking this bad boy after 5 years, no major lags or any other problem except battery. I abve to charge it 2-3 times a day 😭
