The Flip, 23 Aug 2022It's actually not a big deal because updating software... moreWith all the maleware going around you need a device that gets updated regularly. Phones are used for banking and have all your info as well as your credit card info.. Never used outdated devices for anything other than casual gaming.

Lol people forget this is not flagship phones who gets it first new android like Xiaomi 12, Pixel 6 etc. So for €400 phone expecting that fast? Even Samsung midranger like A52s get in January which is more expensive than Nothing.

well, if it gives better experience, then patches for android 12 is better...
rather than forcing android 13 and ending up with a buggy phone...
like what happened to some phones chasing android 11 and 12 before... some had bootloops, some even failed to boot up... like some xiaomis...
besides we have about 5 months "this year"...
that will be enough for "nothing" to optimised android 13 for a less buggy and more efficient phone (1)...

TheLastOracle, 23 Aug 2022What year did the S9 come out in? Does not matter.

If you do not complain about that, cant complain now.
Samsung has much more money and more employees to work on this.
Why did samsung deserve free pass?

Basically Carl Pei said is, the update will be like any other Chinese phone manufacturer in which you will get your Android 13 sometimes mid or later year of 2023 😆

The Flip, 23 Aug 2022It's actually not a big deal because updating software... moreI'll have to disagree with you. Battery doesn't deteriorate due to seeds of update. What degrades it or butcher (in your word) is the constant cycle of discharge or charging that over time begins to conform to its intended downgrade. Also, updates, proven more ways than none help to upkeep the ever so threats that plague the security sphere, potentially leading to breaches and leakages of confidential Infos with a plethora of other useful benefits like UI remodeling.

Surely you wouldn't prefer online ghouls getting assimilated with major OS refrained from getting updates to strengthen its cracks?

And pls don't jump on that conspiracy wagon of it rarely happens or that's what big cooperation wants us to think etc.

Nothing Phone postponding updating to the latest will likely decline in their product demands being the new kid in the block
