Had to cringe at your comment, Especially during a gap year release where even fanboys are saying that there is barely anything new added to the base model when compared to last year's releases. This is a gap year, models were released just to keep shareholders happy, don't spin it beyond the safety limit.
Go on then, list these "innovations" you speak of in the 2022 models.
Here's a tidbit to get you started: 02:23PM EDT - "New machine learning models to go with the changed pixel pattern"
Which apparently are junk ML models, because the ProRAW photos are coming out smeared with bad grain. A fix might be issue no doubt, but you gonna spin this as innovation as well?

Brain dead choices and sales
The pro modals are not worth it no meaning full improvement no advantage over iPhone se 2022
iPhone se 2022 is the best iPhone your still not missing out on anything important so paying more is just burning money
Basically same iPhone
And processors nearly the same
The iPhone se just as flagship as the more expensive iPhones but even the iPhone se 2022 overpriced
Only iPhone people should buy is the iPhone se 2022 unless you're finding a older supported iPhone truely dirt cheap

For my money and I know I'm going against my usual preference for smaller phones, I'd go for the iPhone 14 Pro Max for the sweet, sweet battery life. Be curious to see battery tests between 13 Pro Max vs. 14 Pro Max. The iPhone 13 Pro Max might be the greatest iPhone ever made thanks to its legendary battery life.

the salespitch online showed very big pictures that I do not believe were mad with a 14 Pro series iPhone: the reason being that it is not a genuine 48MP sensor but a quad bayer designed to work at 12MP. Look at any such sensors results at maximum resolution online and you find they sport no actual increas in resolution: they just get bigger, not better, and what got me doing this is that Apple did not post any RAW image photographs actually made with a standard iPhone 14 Pro.
In the market for one, I had to download a variety of 12MP raw iphone pictures from the Pro13 model to get an idea. First, the ultrawide is only sharp in the centre (Pro MAX 13), though the telephoto and standard wide are both adequately sharp lenses.
BUTopening them on my Mac in Photos the general impression of well-saturated pics with good contrast RAW results held up: its just they they are not sharp: they have very little resolution.
The reason is that Apple are smoothing away ALL possible digital noise in their processing BEFORE you get the "RAW" file, and they are giving you a product you cannot change using their software, that has no resolution.
If you dont accept this then you can try Lightroom etc. You get the resolution that is there ut for reasons only Apple know, their RAW files are unbearably noisy.
Further, even a 12MP Apple Pro Res RAW file with all the noise already smoothed irretrieveably away in Photos (an otherwise excellent universal RAW programme free on all Macs) is somehow always around 40MP!!! taking up huge amounts of disk space in iPhone and Computer. My far better Lumia 950 RAW files are usually less than this in Photos, and it is a genuine 20MP sensor with far more detail resolution than any iPhone has ever managed, so why noisefree doctored RAW files in an iPhone are so huge is a complete mystery to me.
I so wanted to buy a 14 Pro iPhone, but until some kind person reviews it and posts the real-world results from the quad 12MP main camera everyone wants, I'll gratefully continue to use my 950 Lumia or my even better Nokia 1020 (41 MP ACTUAL sensor) for stills.
IF in a few weeks time those new sensor RAW images have 48MP resolution, I might change my mind- but not if the detail in the raw files are completely ruined, as now, but their noise reduction, thankyou.

When iphone is so fluid and so on why do you change to newer models when the old work just fine? I will tell you why.Because Apple is just status symbol.You cannot do something that i can't with any other android.Just pick what is working better for you.Thats all.
