From what I'm aware of .. Microsoft charges every laptop producer that wants their devices to run on windows,a fee/price (which is normal and logic). If Google would ask a symbolic price of 2 or 3 $ for each android os powered device .. that would be normal and logic .. and if they'd funneled most of that revenue to R&D for a evolved and improved OS .. that would be absolutely great.

Last big example in tech was then the US Senate were discussing breaking up Microsoft into two or three companies in the late '90s, during the time Apple practically went bankrupt and were saved by Microsoft buying a few useless patents for a hundred million bucks.

this world is truly sad. A bunch of old people who wouldn't be able to earn a penny in the free market have to extort the most successful people of their own money based on the false premise of customer sEcUriTy which they're going to use to hire more bureaucrats to create even more tyrannical laws to extort even more money.

Google never gets banned even for 1 day. All the govts. do is fine them, and we common people will pay for it by watching more & more ads.
See Youtube, it has become trash, there are skippable and unskippable ads before a video, in middle of videos, in the end, text ads in the footnote. Same with FB.

WIth ADB one can actually uninstall the apps for the giving User. Am pretty sure though this works on at least 80% of Androids if not 100. ANd is not even hard to do it. Well on devices full of bloatware will take a lot of time, and some, like samsung, if you uninstall apps releated to let's say, crappy bixby, can happen that the phone will say bye bye and user will need to start all over again.

So yeah, they are at the edge at this momemnt, any time now...Monopolist does not mean, the only company in existance, it means to do everything you can to destroy competition and to not let others rise. Even to resort to missinformation, missleading and sometimes heavier illegalities. So yeah, apple checks all the boxes here. I am actually amazed that USA does not cry about it. As microsoft was high up there and apple was going bankrupt, the congressmen were quite agitated and ready to fine microsoft. I guess that this occurs only when USA Companies missbehave against USA companies... killing european companies won't make them loose money.

I might have some misgivings with the political leanings of Google but to fine the original developers of Android for what is essentially a phone manufacturer's choice is a completely ridiculous judgement. Do you think Samsung or Xiaomi had been coerced to put Google apps on their phone by Alphabet Inc? Of course not, it is there because people demand and expect it to be included. That is the simple reason. And if Google does put it in their Pixel phones who the hell are these idiots to complain. These geniuses should direct their anger at the other genuine monopolistic closed monstrosity that is the IOS ecosystem. Did these Eurocrat geniuses even thought of that. In Xiaomi's case and including Samsung they don't even include
the Google ecosystem in their Android phones in China. In the end it comes down to consumer choice. Are the idiots in the EU going to burden the majority of citizens who use Google with having to install Google services by themselves?
