Anything bigger needs to fold/flip or something to reduce the size, but that's my preference. Was shocked when i saw my old buddies iphones last week and I have way way bigger hands.

I hope th... moreYou're right, but it would be great if they went back to Qualcomm and used a 6-series Snapdragon like in the Pixel 3a or maybe a better Snapragon like in the Pixel 4a 4G. It would also be great if they brought back the headphone jack.

Compact might still mean Asus Zenfone 9 which is still large at 146.5 x 68.1 x 9.1 mm or Sony Xperia 5 IV at 156 x 67 x 8.2 mm. Definition of compact in today's standards would still be considered phablet size just 8 years ago. Give me a compact Pixel phone the same height as the iPhone 13 mini.

Because company definition of compact doesn't match what consumers actually _want_ and envisage from the term "compact". The car equivalent is Ford saying they'll release a compact pickup truck, then making an F450 that's 6" shorter than the standard. Sure it's more compact than your standard, but it's still big.

I have had a long like of small phones, Xperias at first and now got Pixel 4a. All small phones, well priced. I don't mind second class processor, as long as the battery lasts one day(yeah, Pixel isn't that great on this) of mixed use.
Sony did great compact phones and I miss them. I wish there was well prized phone with small height.

I like the codename choice, especially when you spell it backwards. But I don't hope Google will make this "7a" as compact as P5 was. That was perfect size for a compact.

Pixel 7 already seems to be sufficiently compact at 6.28". It would have been perfect for me, but sadly it will not get released here in India.
