I might buy the 7 Pro but not now. The fact that the 5G doesn't work in my country because Google is not selling it directly here, is a major turn off for me. I'll wait and see if this changes...

I said I don't need a most powerful cpu, that's the Bionic, I still need a powerful CPU for good image processing. Zenphones are solid phones. But support for Asus is just terrible.

It's nice that Google is trying something different, but I'm not a fan of the direction they're taking.
When it comes to a "small phone" I would skip the Google Pixel 7. Instead I'd rather buy the ASUS Zenfone 9. Great cameras, headphone jack, has a better screen, more snappy, it's even smaller, yet has better battery life.
When it comes to a "large phone" I would again skip the Google Pixel 7pro. Instead I'd get the Samsung S22 Ultra. Similar long-term software support. Has lots of advantages to list, and it's been on discount for some time now.

sm4rt4ss, 09 Oct 2022At the start of the 23' I will be choosing between Pix... morewhen choosing android phones, you have no choice finding compact phones. most of them are in 6.5 to 7 inch range. zenfone 8 and 9 might be the best option if you are looking for one. but they cost a fortune. dont need a powerful chipset? find yourself an 4-5 year old midrange or flagship androids. they usually found in 5 inch range.

I dig the look of the rear band with extra hole for the telephoto camera. Plus, it seems like they did a really good job on the zoom... Is it worth chipping down another 300 bucks? Probably not. Nevertheless, it's a no-brainer - curved screen a deal breaker for me so Pixel 7 it is.
