Anonymous, 11 Oct 2022That's what you called "Support" unlike Andr... moreIt's better to have 2 years of updates for a working phone out of the box then have 5 years of updates that fix the phone software cause it was not tested to work as indended out of the box. It's common to see apple news like this with fix updates that you dont see on android brands.

Better iOS than being sorry with an Android phone. I got a Chinese phone on Android and it had a bug that a mail app, any mail app couldn't attach any file, not even PDF files. I was waiting for an update to fix this but it never came. If you consider that I paid for this phone 350 dollars and with the same money or 100 dollars more you can get an older iPhone model, new with Apple guarantee and updates for many years, then taking the risk to buy an Android in order to save a little money is a stupid thing to do.

I will probably start a war, but this is what I was talking about. Android doesn't need an android update to fix these things. These would be fixed via play store itself.
For example, if it was android,
1) Incoming call and app notification delayed or not delivered- update phone app
2) low mic volume on car play ie android auto - update android auto
3) camera slow to launch - update camera
4) mail crashes - update email app
Everything will be rolled out within play store itself. But since iOS doesn't allow system apps / built in app to be updated via their app store, they actually need an OS update to fix these little bugs.

SShock, 11 Oct 2022Imagine still giving a f**k about updates size in 2022... I... moreHe doesn't really care what size the update is, he's just going out of his way to cast his usual aspersions on Apple, as per his usual gig.
This isn't even really a story is it, A new product gets a firmware update to iron out some bugs (none of which have cropped up on my 14 Pro), big deal, and hardly one limited to Apple.

AnonD-1066415, 11 Oct 2022Why do they need so many updates to fix things? The reason they do updates is so the device runs properly for years and years. I am still using an iPad mini 2 from 2012......and still getting security updates and works well. It’s much different than my Pixel and Samsung and Fossil smartwatch which are pretty much obsolete garbage in 2-3 years.....

If you have a 500€ and more phone, you probably don't run it on a data plan with just 1GB of data a month. Or 5 or 10. You're probably running something like 100GB a month. I'm on 70GB and I hardly use any of it since bulk of stuff I update at home which goes through WiFi anyway. And even 1GB over LTE, what does it matter lol?

AnonD-1066415, 11 Oct 2022Why do they need so many updates to fix things? Most bugs affect the iPhone 14 series. The iPhone 14 is a very buggy phone on launch. The older models don’t need updating

SShock, 11 Oct 2022There is no such thing as software without bugs. Pretending... moreDepending on what the consumer wants, constant little updates like this are actually good. It’s consistent software support.
To be honest, even though the walled garden is obvious, Apple’s biggest advantage with the iPhone is it’s software. I’m not kidding when I say that it wasn’t exactly made to be the fastest, but it was the way it was made to be smooth. Which imo increases to overall spreed of getting tasks done.
If iOS was nothing but laggy and obvious bugs like an anthill, the iPhone would’ve died a long time ago. Probably as dead as windows phone when you think about it.

AnonD-1066415, 11 Oct 2022Why do they need so many updates to fix things? There is no such thing as software without bugs. Pretending there is such a thing just makes you look clueless. What matters is how quickly things get fixed. Not to mention it's mostly for products that were launched 1 month ago. You people really just need to moan about Apple with most clueless and most BS arguments, do you?

Updated to 16.0.3. But what about 5g connectivity in iPhones, which is not activated.
