Weekly poll: the Xiaomi 12T and 12T Pro are selling high megapixel counts, are you buying?

16 October 2022
The 12T Pro in particular is one of the few 200MP phones out there, it also has a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip and a sharper display than most in the €750 price class.

the 11T's camera is horrible and I don't think Megapixel count can alleviate that

Domks190, 16 Oct 2022People complaining about specs but they do not even see the... moreIn Czech Republic the 12T Pro is 770EUR and the 12T is 570EUR. They are still more expensive than last year 11T Pro and 11T series at launch, but the 12T Pro is similar priced with other 2022 models, like OnePlus 10T or Zenfone 9 and slightly cheaper than Motorola 30 Ultra.
Also, usually Xiaomi prices go down in time. Almost the same as Samsung prices. I am pretty sure in near future, those prices will be even smaller.
Of course, I am not trying to excuse Xiaomi in here. But people should also understand that phone prices at launch are always a little higher (especially in Europe). And with a little bit of patience and some luck you can get some pretty nice offers.

200MP main camera, but then a crappy 8MP ultrawide and only a crappy 2MP macro camera with a fixed focus.
As well as the continuously egregious lack of headphone jack and micro SD.

I wouldn't have these garbage phones if they were free. I wouldn't have them if Xiaomi paid me

Got my 12t pro for $555.

People complaining about specs but they do not even see the price... in Europhe the Pro is 800€ and the non pro past 600€, madness.

The last bargain T model was the 9T Pro which was really good value/specs top notch processor decent cameras, and incredible battery life, and last but not least the 10T Pro for me was really a nice spot even if more expensive.

The 12T Pro is just same shit that is happening in many other brands, i would simply prefer to have two cameras but somewat decent, than those main good camera but gimmicky secondary cameras....

"Motorola is charging €900 for an Edge 30 Ultra (8/128GB)."

Wrong. 899 is for the 12GB/256GB version.

Anonymous , 16 Oct 2022Xiaomi: look guys we are selling 200mp camera phones Xiaom... moreThis is a common practice in many Chinese phones. Then again, nobody said that this models are camera phones.
If you want a good camera phone (let's say at mid-range prices), get the Motorola 30 Ultra. Or the best camera on an Android mid-range phone --> Pixel 7.
Nobody buys a Xiaomi/OnePlus/Realme mid-range phone for their cameras. You buy them for very nice chipsets, very good displays and speakers and super fast charging (among others).
Some corners needed to be cut with this 12T Pro/12T models. If everything was to be perfect and cost 600-750EUR, then what is the point of flagship phones anymore?

Also it has SD 8+ gen1 which better than 8 gen1 and doesn't overheat nearly as much.

My opinion is that the phone is simply terrible. Fitting 200 MP on a very, very small sensor is only for marketing. My opinion on MIUI: pathetic. Why ruin a beautiful Stock Android 12 experience?

No. It's just too big. I currently own Mi 9T Pro and it's just the perfect size. Cca 155mm x 75mm. It's still fast, responsive and has a soild camera. In the near future I will be choosing between Xiaomi 13, Pixel 7 or S23+. If Xiaomi 13 will not have such a strong curve on a screen, I will probably buy it. If not, then the S23+, if there will be a SD version in my country. If Xoaimi and Samusng both fail, I will buy the Pixel. :) I love my Mi9 T Pro but that 120hz refresh rate on a phone is something else. And there was progress in camera tehnology in the last years. And to think I got it for 300€ from China. 12T Pro is now almost 800€.

-Pathetic battery life (Snapdragon gen 1 is always terrible in terms of energy consumption. Wasn't it overheating too?).

                                      not sheer raw number.

                                        I've got an S22 Ultra.

The pictures as basically of the same quality as the Galaxy S6.

The mpix war was over because people were to smart to get fooled. Nowadays people are stupid enough to buy anything, so it's back on.
