It was bigger than ... moreWere the minis actually bigger than the SEs? Because I thought the minis were about the same size if not slightly smaller than SE 2 and 3 (which I can actually confirm by checking the specs on those phones on this site and looking at the dimensions). SE 1 is definitely somewhat smaller than the minis though.
The screen size doesn't always equate to the size of the phone itself.

The hike to $499 is probably more likely, and it would make sense since they have the 12 and 13 mini currently at $599, and every other iPhone is $100 higher than the last.
Although if the only things they're going to change are the screen, RAM and maybe the charging port, then they might either keep it at $429 or only go up to $449.

I think iPhone mini suffer from notch disease
The iPhone se line was kinda like iPhone 6s last hope but apple does what they do best and take everything away from us
Having a good screen & home button everything likeable about apple is being taken away from there products

It was one of the few things I liked that iPhones did have
I thought the iPhone 5c was a good smartphone from design point of view it was my favourite of mine

Rip iPhone 5c no software support so it's turned too trash it's doubtful even custom ROM is possible

I knew the SE models would take over the gap left behind by the mini line. It makes the most sense since they still have all the production lines for the mini series. This also allows apple to charge more money for the SE(mini) line maybe heading towards the $599 territory since all their other phones have kinda gone up in price too...

And that time in collage we was all given the iPad
I could never really work out the interface in iOS
Not the most familiar with iOS especially difficultly and frustration with the iPad not a tablet fan
My problems I had was could never find the back button had many difficulties with navigation and controls iPhone is gesture control was huge pain in the backside
But home bottom from Android is amazing

since there won't be FaceID it would have been great to see a teardrop notch. That would at least give the SE a distinct look since it's the Special Edition it deserves some unique features.

XR is so ugly, huge bezels (for a bezelless screen), wide notch and it's not a small phone like previous SE models. I very much prefer the 8 design but oh well, it's very outdated.

usually found midrangers or lower midrange have 3 camera setup but unnecessary. with entry level iphone, they gave you:
a better chipset and single rear cam design with OIS.

Anonymous, 20 Oct 2022They gotta keep it small like the current oneThat SE's up to this point have been smaller is mainly a byproduct of their being based on legacy designs which were themselves smaller. It's never been the mission statement of the SE to be the smallest iPhones though, that's just coincidental. The SE's primary purpose has been to be as cheap an iPhone as possible.
Those wanting the next SE or any subsequent SE to be based one of the mini's are likely going to be in for a disappointment. The XR is a prime candidate on which to base an SE, as it means you get both the reduced costs of an existing platform and increased battery life inherent of a larger design. I'm betting after an XR based SE, the next one will be based on the 12/13 standard models.

It just puts unnecessary load on chipset for zero visible fidelity. Or do you really pixel peep at the phone's display at distance of I don't know, 4 cm? Sure, more is always better on paper, but is it really? I think it's not.

Yes you'll get the usual complaining on this site, mostly around the display, no HRR and sub-1080p (like it matters on a 6.1 inch screen) and only a single camera, no Macro - Depth combo that you cannot do anything with, yet cannot live without apparently 🤷♂️
It would all come down to that pricing though. they would need to keep a healthy gap between this and the 14 series, I do not count the 13's as they would likely be discontinued, in fact were I making this decision at Apple, I would do that now.
