The Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Explorer sets a new benchmark for fast charging - 210W

27 October 2022
Save for the faster charging and different battery capacity, the Explorer is identical to the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ (yes, including the 200MP camera).

My current phone with 65w charging tech already more than 2 years old and the battery still last all day with just a single charge.

I don't trust any of BS that companies and "experts" say about harmless fast charging, it's a fact that faster the charger the more heat on the battery it cause. I have a smartphones with 67,33 and 120w native chargers and because of them temperatures goes beyond 40c which will degrade battery faster, i charge my smartphones with 15w Samsung charger and it causes almost no heat on the battery.

you can surely fit 5500mah battery, 1" sensor and sd card slot in it and the thermal dissipation while recording 4K120 is better with that smaller form factor. The 18GB ram is essential for playing red dead redemption and editing in final cut pro.

Rebranding this as Note 12 Pro+ globally and doing a chipset swap to 6G1 for the Note 12 Pro?

Nice business decision. Now every xiaomi user will experience significantly shorter Screen on time after 6 months. Which means..boosting battery sales for xiaomi.

But it doesnt matter, this phone will become junk anyway after 1 year because of no software support. Selling new phones with Android 12 after 2 months release of Android 13 is like having no updates at all.

But it's possible to design for minimum internal resistance & maximum cooling. They probably increased the size of the metal grids on the plates & the interconnecting straps. This would account for the drop in capacity...not as much room for active material.

[deleted post]Bought two Samsung phones last week and they are among the best phones I bought till date, only comparable with my flagship OnePlus. But gotta say the iPhone that I used recently beats em both in smoothness, tho I don't find iOS be to good as Samsung UI but as they say it just works and is quality product 👌 But for my next phone it'll be a flagship Samsung for sure

The fact that battery is 700mha smaller shows that there is still long way to go where this kind of charging speed can be applied to flagships, still, incredible feat ngl.
