    no ... thanks

A710/A510 (v9 architecture) isn't optimized yet so make sense they went A78/A55 (v8)

YUKI93, 22 Nov 2022I don't think the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 is well received ... morequalcomm doesnt have choice over this, its Arm who messed up, to correct Arm mistakes Qualcomm had to use verry efficient gpu to balance.

if you truly care about in house snapdragon soc you have to wait until 2024 new Oryon soc will be ready with custom cores and perfomance better than Apple's Bionic.

you have to suffer, 22 Nov 2022no need of 778g plus replacement. why fix it when there is... more2.7ghz is nice bump over 2.4/2.5ghz, for single core task you will see improvements. also sd 778G gpu were clocked lower so 10%+10% again will make it reach or surpass adreno 640 inside sd 855.

it make sense to buy A78/55 soc over A710/510 one.

Wait what about Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 ?

Anonymous, 22 Nov 2022its basically sd7xx version so max only ufs 2.2 i think Even 750g supported ufs 3.0, so chipsets after that also support ufs3.1

Qualcomm pulling off a pro Apple move here. Same product, new name, higher price

                      Not soo much difference. 🤷🤷

Aparently there was supposed to be a Snapdragon 7 Gen 2, but seems that it might get reworked due the D8200 which seems to be a tweaked D9000.

They could have done this much earlier instead of making 7 gen 1, which is samsung made and useless.

Spanky, 22 Nov 2022Well this sucks! So the OEMs are just going to continue to ... moreActually, the S7G1 isn't as powerful as people are led to believe. Someone got the China version of the Oppo Reno8 Pro that is powered by S7G1 and it turns out the new ARMv9 isn't that well optimized*.

Qualcomm failed to make armv9 for midrange cpu

                                  we had enough of armv8

The cortex A710/A510 already 2 years old and they still push the damn old A78/A55 in upper midrange device, i hope mediatek will release newer upper midrange soc with the new arm cores
