CargoJoe, 08 Dec 2022Pretty much. Ray-tracing was already available on Dimensity 1200...
    1300, 8000, 8100, 9000 were concerned too...

    Plus you've got 4nm process on 8200.

zaryan, 08 Dec 2022so technically it is an overclocked 8100 with ray tracing Pretty much.

Rodolf, 08 Dec 2022Exactly! That's why I'm looking forward to upgrad... moreThe WiFi 6 just started and they already talking about WiFi 7 so pointless you don't have laptops with WiFi 7 you don't have routers yet so you looking forward way too early ..
        Edit:
It seems that nowadays manufacturers introducing all better and faster functionalities and features more and more often and end users and consumers haven't had even chance to use properly feature for at least 5 years .. This is purely gimmick because new faster features overlaps previous which released few months ago .. 🤷‍♂️ It is all because they want fast money .. And then people here laughing why smartphones releasing every 6 months .. Soo n it will be month? 🤷‍♂️ So your device will be crap in month ? This is stupid

On same range, Mediatek and even Unisoc switched to A75 and DynamIQ for long time.

Last year, 8100 was probably the best soc considering perfs/watt...beats 888 in term of performances...beats many 8 Gen 1 based devices in term of sustained performances.

And of course with hardware AV1 support!
Remember me? I think Qualcomm is 3 years late on it?

Anonymous, 08 Dec 2022Agree with you. I'm really looking forward with WiFi ... moreExactly! That's why I'm looking forward to upgrade to WiFi 7-capable devices. The reliability AND range (while speed is an extra bonus).

TECH--BEAST, 08 Dec 2022Besides you forgot the price not anyone like you can afford... moreThis generation of wireless connectivity deserves the extra cost in my opinion (but I don't know how much extra they put per device)

That's because WiFi 7 is the biggest upgrade in wireless connectivity history to the point it doesn't only brings speed, but also reliability (by connecting to all bands at the same time) AND range! Big jump from last version 6E.

I'm really looking forward with WiFi 7 MLO (Multi Link) to eliminate bad/dead spot by connecting to 2 or more routers at the same time.

Is it really THAT expensive to future-proof it with WiFi 7?!

I mean even if it's midrange chipset does that give it an excuse to exclude latest WiFi connectivity and rest it with only WiFi 6! (let alone 'E' part which will never be available on any D8200 device)
