someday I'm sure people will look back at these days and be like ...ah yes , smartphones... jack of all fruits but master of none.all it does is give anxiety . if you want best camera buy a sony alpha . best gaming ? any DIY pc with win 10 . entertainment ? go Imax with someone.

David 040882, 19 Dec 2022Right, with that exception Rog 6 and xperia 1iv have better front cameras than s22u, withou nasty cutouts.
Now with micro matrix tech from sony semicon, xperia can have front camera while having thin bezels like S22.

As someone pointed out, the Ultras have had AF on the front facing camera, and the 40 mp has pixel binning, so... There is very little to complain about that sensor. This new sensor better be accompanied by an ultra wide angle lens and has bigger pixel size to at least keep the current quality of the S22 Ultra selfie

Everybody's all about the trend of 0.5x back camera shot anyway, so I guess this isn't too problematic enough. So long as it works good for normal video conferences, where it is used most of the time, then it's just fine.
