Anonymous, 01 Jan 2023You do not understand. Short stable support > long b... moreYour theory isn't matching, short stable support doesn't even exist because not a single company has 100% stable software. Apple and Samsung have the most stable, the rest of companies are either a downhill or a bit better than downhill. Chinese companies are the worst at updating and managing the stabilization of softwares, take an example from Xiaomi.
Now long software support may not be a good thing either but if people are satisfied enough with for example 6s, or keeps running at least important apps, what's your point then? It's also very logical that 7 years old devices won't work 100% properly as 2022 devices, you can't expect too much from 6s or Galaxy S5.

Anonymous, 01 Jan 2023Android 13 is much smoother than previous versions. The sam... moreNewer is mostly worse nowadays. Let's see:

    -Visa was worse than Xp.
-8/8.1 was way worse than anything before it.
-10 is not better than 7 in most cases. Only LTSC 10 is significantly better than 7.
-W11 is worse than W10 except android app support. It doesn't offer anything else better but has unreasonable hardware requirements, which shows inefficient programming.

These aren't just my opinion, these are what most people think.

Nope, A13 feels no smoother than A12. And A11 and A10 were faster than A12, no unnecessary animation and no poor, less functional UI. 4 icons vs 6 in status bar. A12 (and A13) has complicated, ugly colouring system. Slow to switch between apps by double tapping recents button.

Get update late and not getting at all is two different things. Even if phone get updates late it will still be future proof,

Anonymous, 01 Jan 2023OIS is only useful when shutter speed is between 1/4s - 1s.... moreNo, it's useful in almost all conditions, even with auto exposure. It makes a huge difference, same shot which needed many attempts without OIS need much less with it.
            EIS is for video only.

Demon Slayer, 01 Jan 2023How is the Zenfone 9 the best compact phone with those mass... mores22 with Sdragon Gen 1, 3700mah battery, slower charging is considerably worse in terms of performance and battery life. Zenfone 9 is slightly thicker (1.5mm) and marginally longer (0.5mm), but narrower (2.5mm). The smaller width and the fact it has smaller screen due to extra bezels, makes it more compact than s22. It's a no compromise phone, and can actually last you a full day on a single charge (s22 battery endurance: 85 hrs, zenfone 9 battery endurance: 108 hrs). Note that Zenfone 9 would charge at slower rate at night (if you choose to), increasing the longevity. s22 is so bad that it has to underperform to keep the temperatures in check. The challenge is not to make a smaller phone; anyone can do that. The challenge is to make a compact flagship phone that doesn't compromise on essentials, and Asus is able to achieve is, while adding so cool a features like a headphone jack.

One sure can make something, anything but it at some point have to be able to substantiate it's very existence, they make 1 F1 car, costs 135million, wins the race and the winner gets to sell their product with free marketing, like that they built a Germany or Japan, similarly they make many Debit Cards they all work in all cases. What Asus makes doesn't have quantity, so less quality also as the mould has to be 5million unit one, sadly they don't have so much buyers, next big mould comes for 10k units then 1unit. In industry following two are considered prototype.

It has extremely better battery life and processor and a headphone jack and a clear UI.

Build quality of the Zenfone 9 isn't really good with many reviewers complaining about the plastic back peeling off or dirt getting stuck on the gooey surface..
Dimensions aren't that far off from S22 so I don't get the hype 🤷‍♂️

What use would a non-ROG large screen flagship be? That’s what every manufacturer does. They‘d have to go up against the best from Samsung, Apple, Xiaomi, etc. I feel it would just end like the Xperia 1, good phone but more expensive and less software support than the big phone manufacturers. Of course they could still just make a larger variant of the Zenfone 9 at $100 more, so they‘d not compete with the Galaxy Ultra and the iPhone Pro Max. But again, I‘m not sure what the unique selling point would be.

Short stable support > long buggy support

User has no choice. Forced to update to use apps. Apple does not care if devices are working well or not.

I laugh everytime when I see ppl demand OEMs with low revenue like Htc, Asus, Meizu, Sony , HMD to have same support of samsung and Apple.

Apple make almost 200 billion dollars/year just selling iphones/ipads/accessories.
Samsung Mobile makes over 70 billion dollars.
The 3rd is Oppo with half compared to samsung.
Majority do not even make 3 billion/year.

It is like expecting someone that makes $35.000/year to be able to live at Park Avenue.
