Omg are you people gonna hate on every single thing now??? You don't have to use maximum of 2000 nits, no one is forcing you. It's a very nice feature for outdoor usage, i for example have a phone that doesn't even have 1000 nits and whenever i want to use it on a sunlight, it's a disaster.

we are getting close to the point where a phone is not much more than a commodity with no individual features to diversify on and a brand to; like electricity.

Yep, complainers as usual. I mean, if ur phone has the feature doesn't mean u should USE it.

Samsung managed to put stadium lights into their screens so they removed the flash because who needs a flash when you can just increase the brightness and lit up your whole room

It is kinda a useless thing, most people do not use their cellular devices at the maximum brightness, I never used mine either, under sun even 80% brightness is enough for any type of display panel.

Although I understand some people want brighter Screens in sunlight, my pixel 7 pro's "Extra-dark-mode" is always on because its way too bright for my liking. Wish the lowest brightness was even much lower.
