Some phones have different thickness so that could lead to empty space. But repairability should be available, at least for batteries to be easily replaced within seconds like in the good old days. Maybe standardized parts are not needed if companies stopped releasing 400 models every year that are all basically the same, and just did like 15. That way, components would be more likely to be available for that specific model.

Actually, add Samsung too because why only 5 years instead of 7 years like Fairphone. Any more brands I missed out?

Sustainable development is the right method. Companies like Fairphone must be appreciated. Nowadays we see so many phone launches almost every single day by XYZ brands and they fail in providing software as well as hardware supported. To reduce ewaste, there should be universal standards like type c, standardized hardware parts so repairability is enhanced and ewaste is reduced. Fragmentation leads to problems, whether in terms of hardware or softwarefor example if your display is broken, you need to use the specified display for the model and no other display. These days most phones come with 4000 mAh/5000mAh battery.. What if all these batteries were standard size with standard volt and charge input, you could replace your phone battery with the other brands phones battery. So in my opinion, standardization is required in order to reduce ewaste generation. Reduce, Reuse & Recycle, the 3 R's to save this planet.

                Motorola would never.

Impressive for an Android phone, but I will still have to say it … iPhone 6s from 2015 is still getting security updates.

that's some excellent support... I'd get a Fairphone but their antennas don't support my carrier :(

i didn't even know this existed, why isn't there a link to it on your website? remove crap like CAT and plum, cause they haven't made a phone in so many years, and put them Fairphone's name instead.

I wonder when Fairphone comes up with the Fairphone 5, or maybe the 4+. The software support is great from Fairphone, especially when you see that the hardware it was released with wasn't top notch back in the day.
