bulbulito.bayagbag, 24 Jan 2023There's a reason why chinese phones are cheap. I have ... moreSoftware support is neglected? Really? Is it now? Then explain why my 2,5 year old vivo iQOO 5 Pro that launched with Android 10 has Android 12 now with a confirmed Android 13 update on the way. It also has 120w fast charging, but great battery endurance, yet it was actually the first phone ever to go over 100W charging. It also didn't came with any bloatware. Speaking of bloatware.. Samsung comes to my mind every time that word is mentioned.. who knows why.. but oh well maybe most people need 2 mail apps and 2 browsers and that useless Samsung pay which doesn't work at all in many countries. You know what does tho? Google pay.

Smart opinion, 23 Jan 2023Of course, your favourite chinese phone has price half of S... more1. IP ratings are useless an only jack up prices by 30 bucks. My K40 has encountered tons of water and has survived because it uses the same rubber seals as your beloved IP68 phones. Did you not pay attention to the OnePlus 7 Pro?
2. Better to have a Type C 2.0 port that can charge at 210W than a Type C 3.2 port that can only handle 45W. 😂 Are you planning on using your phone like a desktop? Couldn't afford a desktop after spending a whole paycheck or two on your non-Chinese phone?
3. Glass is either harder or softer. Cracks easier or scratches easier. There is no better glass. there's a reason you can scratch most foldables with your fingernails. Even so, you're still wrong even if that wasn't the case. Even the old K50 had Victus.
4. The half-the-price IQOO 11 has a telephoto lens.
5. No company except Apple has good software support. Everyone else just tops out at 3 major updates. That's not good either. And even most non-Chinese companies have terrible software support. Sony only appears to do 2. LG only really did 1. I think you're also forgetting that the majority of phone companies are Chinese. OnePlus is and usually does 3.
6. Did not stop me from buying a Chinese K40 in the US.
"Have you even once wondered, why Samsung and Apple both have increasing percentage of marketshare of flagship every year?"
I know I just told the other guy, "the majority do things the way they do because, quite often, it's the way things should be done", but here Apple fanboys just do it because they're sheep who have no free will of their own and mindlessly follow the flock. Samsung is because they're one of the biggest companies ever. They have ads, partnered stores, and other products everywhere on Earth. People know about them. Ask most people if they've heard of Xiaomi, let alone actually considered any of their products, and they'll tell you they know nothing about them. This effect grows larger over time.
I hope you enjoy paying $1500 for your next phone.

bulbulito.bayagbag, 24 Jan 2023There's a reason why chinese phones are cheap. I have ... moreMy Chinese K40:
1) Does not come with pretty much any bloatware.
2) Has never showed me any ads.
3) Has been in contact with lots of water, but no damage. Because the same rubber seals installed in IP68 phones are installed in every other phone. It's simply that the Chinese know that it makes more sense to not burn 30 bucks on a useless certification. And software support? Even Google's phones only get 3 major updates. 😂 Hate to say it, but Apple is really the only one who gives proper update support anymore.

Anonymous, 23 Jan 2023Argument ad populum is not the "gotcha" you think... more"Argument ad populum is not the "gotcha" you think it is, will you jump off a cliff just because the majority is doing it?"
No, but I will charge my phone quickly because I can, and it makes sense to do so when I have work in an hour and don't want my phone to die halfway through the day because it only managed to charge to 50%. Not because the majority are doing it. Believe it or not, the majority do things the way they do because, quite often, it's the way things should be done. Big shocker I know. Take some time to process that, bud.
"The gauss bell shows that the average is in the middle"
What does that have to do with anything.
"are you comfortable being an average person?"
(1) This still doesn't relate. (2) I would much rather be an average person on a scale of intelligence than someone in your position.
"I for one like to use my critical thinking"
Buddy we get it, you took a critical thinking course last semester and now you think you know it all. 😂 Unfortunately, here, your argument is invalid as your premises do not prove your conclusion.
"and see that perhaps what the majority WANTS is not really what the majority NEEDS"
The majority does not NEED a smartphone to begin with. What people need doesn't matter. This is about what people want.
"What we really NEED are removable batteries to become the norm"
No, your do not NEED removable batteries to become the norm, you WANT removable batteries to become the norm.
"so you can swap them whenever the situation arises."
If you had more than half a brain you'd realize that "non removable" batteries are removable. Just because the back panel isn't easily removable and you can't take out the battery in 10 seconds, doesn't mean it's unable to be removed. Battery degradation is easily solved no matter the phone. And if you're bringing this up because you want to swap a drained battery for a fully charged one, for the love of god get a battery bank.
"Also, "vast minority" is an oxymoron, they contradict each other, if it is so "vast" then how come it is a "minority"?"
"Vast" is not just a term to describe quantity. The definition is, "of very great extent or quantity." By using it in combination with "minority", it could either mean the minority is of a large quantity, (e.g. there's a billion votes on a poll and option 1 of 2 received 40% of the votes, that's 400 million and a vast minority) or it could be describing the extent of the minority. The latter is the way I used it. Perhaps saying, "you're in the minority to a very great extent" makes it easier for you to comprehend.
Good try, though.
