In the last couple of years we had seen such things many times. Firstly there was Indian Desktop Browser called 'Epic' based on Chromium which was later abandoned. Then there was Indian Desktop OS based on Debian Linux called 'BOSS' which had never received any update patches. Then there was Indian Messaging App called 'Sandes' which nobody even remembers now. Unfortunately this gimmick will also fade away in few days.
Coming back to this New Mobile OS, this is just a new Android fork and we already of so many official and unofficial Android forks available. They should make new Free and Open Source base OS with basic apps like Contact, Calendar, Clock, Dialer, Message and other Web based Apps to be worked with some existing Open Source Browser.

Anonymous, 22 Jan 2023If my country made a super safe android vork, like seriousl... moreYea the overly patriotic themes can be annoying also very boring because everything is centred around a single theme everywhere i.e patriotism. Such an eyesore. I bet the app store on that will be called Bhar Store and the internal space called Bhar GBs or something

Putting apps and changing wallpaper on lineage os is not an os development.

government administration people only use Samsung and Apple who is gonna use this ? lava, Micromax?

Anonymous, 22 Jan 2023If my country made a super safe android vork, like seriousl... moreNGL I kinda agree
The over patriotism sometimes rubs off wrong way
I mean you don't need to show off your love for your country

Rebranding something that already exists within new skin doesn't makes it new
It is still a varient of Android instead of a totally new OS
Also lmao the name of both OS and the company are literally meme in Indian languages

PhoneFreak45, 22 Jan 2023Well.. before you attack this I'd encourage you to ask... moreMicrosoft has never sold them off as new OS tho.

They always say it's the new Windows version, same as every Android version out there.

ae86, 22 Jan 2023you have a point but ironically aren't y'all usin... moreNot controversies but laws. By law chinese companies have to give all their users data to the CCP. Considering even the Xiaomi calculator app sends data... Yeah not controversy more law.

I'm sorry, but "Android" and "security" don't go together. If they really want to focus on security, not putting GMS is the first step. Even better, go full on GNU Linux.

kek, 22 Jan 2023LOL isnt this just Lineage OS but made in India????? ... moreWell.. before you attack this I'd encourage you to ask Microsoft about windows 11 and how much stuff in it is really windows 11

This is actually good news but which way this is going for real?

Not every one have to agree to facts, it's just true and very difficult to be altered otherwise.

It is need of an hour in India because Google is abusing it's dominance. It will put pressure on Google to obey rules of the land. Every country outside US should do this.

As much as I hate the current iOS and Android duopoly, there's nothing new OS can do to compete with them unless they are forked of Android or adding stable Android apps compatibility.
