Samsung Galaxy S23 and S23+ arrive with new design, bigger batteries

01 February 2023
Samsung changed the styling of these two to match the Ultra. And no, there is no Exynos this year.

uk7866, 01 Feb 2023I've had the S22 and the S21 ultra before that. Believ... moreWith these apps you mentioned, I can 100% say you haven't used either phone, I leave all my apps opened on my s22 with 8gb ram and I also have 2.5 GB ram left with 1 GB reserve and of course with with ram plus turned off, some people here have never used these devices before but yet keep yapping about it, most of the problems mentioned are usually stuff they have read but haven't even experienced it. Also a simple Google search will give you the full specs, some people here just mention a spec that's already available and be like how can a flagship not have this and that, if you were reading before commenting, you'd be sure to know these stuff

There is no micro sd slot, which can be improved by all kinds of innovations, a better camera, but the phone will not work without a micro sd. Apparently the Note 10+ will be my last Samsung phone.

S23 is downgraded compared to S22.
S23 has no OIS for telephoto camera, whereas S22 had it.
        I will skip S23.

UltraHD, 01 Feb 2023Huge disappointment except cameras and chipset.Even cameras are disappointing. .. no Af on ultra wide is shamee... Looks could definitely be better... Looking at other brands now for my needs...

Anonymous, 01 Feb 2023Huawei still better for cameras..i dont care about anything... moreHuawei? Don't make me laugh, please.

Plazmex8, 02 Feb 2023I'ma stick to my note10+ with 12Gb Ram, MicroSD card, ... moreIkr. My Galaxy A52s reloads the apps often, even when I'm using an additional 6 GB "VRAM" along with the built-in 6 GB. Yes, optimizations play a role, but I'll still leap in the favor of a bit more RAM as the standard.

I'm in love with the simplicity of the design. Other than that, it's just minimal changes.

Still not as big as the S21 and S21+. If Samsung want to retain the 19.5:9 screen while giving a bigger battery, than the S24 and S24+ should better have a thicker body.

It looks like a cheap china midrange phone. Samsung has lost it

I'ma stick to my note10+ with 12Gb Ram, MicroSD card, all day battery and runs even the most hungry games at almost highest settings.
Yes the camera on the 23 looks amazing but it's not worth it. I'm not gonna throw almost 1000k (and even more) on a phone that will barely able to open 2-3 apps simultaneously without force closing because 8Gb for Android is NOT enough. Even my note10+ is at 7-8gb ram usage when idle, so 8gigs for a high end flagship phone is a joke. Samsung lost their way and will slowly start losing customers.

I hope it backfires on their greediness

Anonymous, 02 Feb 2023There is absoluetly no point in buying Samsung anymore, it ... more128/8 Gb for a flagship sold @ 949 EUR without any MicroSD is clearly a mistake, I hope this will backfire with the global sales so they can change their course. And that's also partially why I doens't want to change for the S23u and keep the S22u, I wonder in battery life though ...

[deleted post]Sorry but given how Xiaomi is nowadays, that's clearly a nogo, there is always something that is missing or it's a big curved screen with too little ppi. We'll see upon announcement, if it's available in Europe, with proper software support 👍

                              Great news.
                              S23 Vanilla should start from 256GB too… ;-;

Anonymous, 01 Feb 2023who uses 12GB anyway??Nothing "needs" that much memory but it improves performance. At this point, 16GB is probably usable in some way.

Even though RAM is far more expensive than flash storage, a little more RAM can reduce the performance requirements of the flash storage through improved caching.

Unless you're Sony and screw up the OS tuning at every opportunity. Xperia 1 III has 12GB RAM but aggressively prunes to 6GB.

It is like having an Apple iPhone, witouth the hassle of Android bugs. This is shameful.

Nevertheless, for example I have a phone with 6Gb of RAM, and apps constantly close because Android is very very very RAM consuming. I don't even see myself buying a flagship with 8Gb of RAM, especially at 128 Gb with no microSD (LOL ?)
