I never said there is Ground breaking cooling solution i just pointed out comparison between brands, Samsung dont put TOP Notch cooling solution while Xioami do or oneplus and other bbk brand, so when you take sd 8 gen 1 from Galaxy s22 ultra and Compare it to sd8+ gen 1 from Xiaomi 12s or OP 10T yiu wont get fair result because there is huge difference im cooling between those brands. To get fair results take phone from same brands like Oneplus 10 pro and 10T like i did from Gsmarena Database.

    2. OEM cheats, those devices have different resolution, Geekerwan counted them Manual its a fact, so you cant use Genshini impact as a benchmarks, what Gsmarena or Notebookcheck do is much better they use same Benchmark to stress these cpu and Golden reviewer method is flawed.

    3. Now plenty of Phones with sd 8 gen 2 are reviewed, from s23, s23+, oneplus 11 etc all of them have fantastic battery life, and all of them have one thing in common, they have been throttled a lot.

    -s23 sustain perfomance to 68%
    -s23+ sustain perfomance to 67%
    -OP11 sustain perfomance to 74%
    -Iqoo 11 sustained perfomance 77%

    Even Might red magic 8 had 75% of sustained perfomance, that plus lower multi thread score show that Oem learn how to throttle these phones, so saying these newer TSMC cpu can sustain perfomance is just a myth.

        In his review of sd 8+ gen 1 he use Samsung device as standard sd 8 gen 1 device and Xiaomi as standard sd 8+ gen 1

        1. Two cooling solution from Samsung and Xiaomi, we know Samsung cooling solution isnt top notch hence you get inflated difference due to cooling solution.

        2. He use Genshini impact to test these soc without testing resolution, in his Review of Xiaomi Flagship, Geekerwan found them to run it at 540P, for comparison Ios devices and some Galaxy Device run it at 800p up to 1700p. So when you get Xiaomi with D8100 or 8+ gen 1 with stable 60fps your mind think soc are amazing but in reality it was just 540p and other struggle to reach 60fps because they run it at 800p.

        I suggest for pure soc reviews visit Geekerwan, his reviews are much better and more proffesional, or Anantech, but they didnt do one for some time since Andrei left.

                      Diminishing returns. You don't get much out of slightly smaller node. 5nm to 4nm to 3nm not much difference. You have to jump big like 12nm to 6nm to 3nm to see any real benefit. I like to see improvements in battery technology

                            Every recent review of phone go to page 4 to see sustainable perfomance.

                            I will give you few Examples

                            -Oneplus 10 pro with sd 8 gen 1 throttle to 79%
                            -oneplus 10T with sd8+ gen 1 throttle to 77%
                            -Oneplus 11 with sd 8 gen 2 throttle to 74%

                            As you can see there throttling behaviour is same, sd 8+ gen 1 has extra 200mhz even if you factor that its not that difference.

                            You can also check yourself Gaming phones
                            -Rog phone 6 sustain around 60% unless you activate Xmode which overheat to the point its unpleasant to touch in Gsmarena test it reach 65C°

                            -Nubia 7s pro with 8+ gen 1 had 84% stability
                            -Nubia 7 pro with 8 gen 1 had 82% stability
                            -Nubia 7 with 8 gen 1 had 87% stability

                            As you can see there its not true that Samsung Soc require more throttling.

                              1. Pixel 6A now is available for as cheap as $300, yes Tensor isnt as good as sd 8 gen 2 or gen 1 but for that price its better than D920 or sd 778G, so it make it best purchase for that price even though its from Samsung foundry

                              2. Samsung A14 5G exynos 1330 version give you cortex A78 and Mali G68 Mp4 for under $200, same configuration you get them in D900/920/1080 which found in device sometime more than $300.

                              As long as they are better priced than competitors you can sacrifice than 10 or 20% battery life and get 30 to 50% more perfomance

Yes, manufacturers can give Impression of good battery life on Samsung chip, but, at the expense of more throttling than on TSMC! In fact, throttling has become very noticeable on such devices, such as Xperia 5iv. The TSMC chips require less throttling to achieve same battery life.
                                        Tests have shown Samsung chips throttle earlier than TSMC due to increased heat when running stress benchmarks.
