Hemedans, 07 Feb 2023While Samsung node isnt as good as TSMC its not bad either.... moreThey're not as good as TSMC counterpart even if they're "good". No point in buying something worse when better is available at reasonable price.

vrvly, 07 Feb 2023We definitely need that processing power to be able to get ... moreJust because the sensor is 200 megapixels doesn't mean the resultant image is 200 megapixels.
From pcmag:
"The 200 million pixels measure 0.6μm each in size and sit on a 1/1.3-inch sensor. The camera can capture photos with all 200MP, 50MP (binned down by a factor of four), or 12.5MP (binned down by a factor of 16). That last one is the standard shooting mode."

Bigmeme, 07 Feb 2023Are you illiterate? Did you not see the difference between ... moreYes 8+ gen 1 is efficiency but not that efficient like people here thinks, one of the reason we get more battery life with 8+ gen 1 is because Oem learn how to throttle it.
When sd 888 come out we had bad battery life but s21 ultra had decent battery life because Samsung did throttle that soc.
Check recent Phones with sd 888, they have very good battery life same as sd8+ gen 1, why? Because Oem learn how to throttle it.
These are example of recent phones with sd 888 and very good battery life.
Realme GT 2 has 115H endurance with 18H browsing and 22H video playback, thats insane for flagship, same to Oppo Find X5, and other new Sd 888 devices.

Check Geekerwan review of flagship soc you can see graph with all cores from TSMC and Samsung, difference isnt much.

Worker shortages? This is what happens when governments all over the world give out hand outs. No one wants to work anymore. Also, when everyone thinks they can become social media stars. Even colleges and universities in the United States are facing low enrollment.

TooMuchTimeOnMyHand, 07 Feb 2023Well... SD 780G (5nm) maybe is good but 778G (6nm) made by ... moreYes its better, but there you can see difference between Samsung and TSMC. People think reason these flagship overheat a lot is Samsung only, they forgot Main Culprit, Arm themselves who designed power hungry cores.

Hopefully they can catch up a bit with TSMC. It is already not a great situation having a duopoly but if there is only TSMC then that's not going to be ideal for consumers. Also quite risky for the supply of chips in general
