I don't think that Google will increase the threshold every year, though. Android 6.0 is probably chosen because of the Runtime Permissions feature. Apparently there are no security features in Android 7.0 that prevent malware, so I don't think that Google will increase the threshold to Android 7.0.

The thing is, with the price you pay for an iPhone SE, almost all Android phones are simply better.

A truly awful future for android

This is the worsed thing ever blocked even from sideloading legacy app is as bad as it gets

Google well and truly turned android too total trash
        Awful terrible locked-down os

No need for this house sh*t in name of Security
        Just turns android into crap

Could of just added legacy app as a options in setting just like with sideloading third party apps but Google rather just lock down android

AnonD-1037771, 11 Feb 2023Using SM-G781B/HS S20 FE 5G 256GB 8GB RAM Android 13 OneUI ... moreWell.. i also use fullscreen gesture, normally to go back to home, swipe twice from the middle, first swipe to show "bottom line/status bar", and swipe again to open recent apps/home.

Second option, you could use double back tap feature, simple back tapping twice from any apps/home to open recent apps.

It would come as the next "new" feature in stock Android 14, but any Samsung user can try it already from Samsung Good Lock👍

0odle-noodle, 10 Feb 2023This is the most fanboy thing ive ever heard come out of a ... moreAfter using a Sony for 5 years I went with Samsung. OneUI is incredible compared to what Sony is offering (basically nothing). Especially if you are using Android 13 OneUI 5.0.
The only things that are better on a Sony: the 4K display, SD card slot, 3.5mm jack. If Samsung brings these 3 features on the Ultra, I'm making a subscription for life !
Sony used to be cool, but now they're nobody. People have no clue that Sony still makes phones. Also , no marketing strategy, no advertising gives me the feeling that Sony is being sabotaged from the inside.
Sony thinks that they can survive just by selling TVs and Playstation. Meanwhile ,EVERYONE has a phone.

AnonD-454049, 11 Feb 2023lmao are you telling me it died because of one app XDIt's not just one app. Google effectively crippled first party development for it and it's not limited to youtube. And this caused the chicken and egg problem that windows had. No one wants to use them because they lack apps. And no developers want to develop for them bec they lack users.

Anonymous, 10 Feb 2023No thanks, OneUI is a complete mess. I bet you don't e... moreValid post, unlike many more on this. Even though I disagree. Appreciate at least using 'mess' not worse, 'Up to' makes the information correct.

That figure is S23/5.1 in some countries (system + bloarware). Not One UI in general. About 20GB system + few gigs of apps on my Samsung midrange = no issue practically.

Most of things people usually say is pointless. (hi chinese promotion) In practice, apps may be disabled (then do nothing and consume no RAM), while thorough removal of included apps from storage is more complicated but too possible. Generally, better figures of stock Android means less OS features at the same time.

That's matter of choice/personal preference, no more. In case you won't really need it, would you wear a T-shirt saying how much free RAM you have, or what? That's ridiculous.

That said, anybody may freely choose simple but light stock Android over havier but feature richer UI for any valid reason. Personally would miss One UI features while I couldn't fully use advantages of stock as I'm no heavy user. (may still try again recent stock with some phone, some day)

Realwiseman, 10 Feb 2023Nonsense, Xperia and Zen UI are the best, One UI is garbage. The number of sales from samsung just shows that most of people love One UI.

Xperia, and Zen UI are indeed half baked UI and looks like garbage UI👍
