Even though samsung has the ability to remove middle punch hole camera, i do really hope Samsung would keep it in the future.
Dont really care if most manufacturer copied Samsung punch hole, because most of them are actually using Samsung display.

1. Why do they provide microSD slot and headphone jack? In fact when they "bought it back", they also bought back those two features soon after, with Xperia 1ii/5ii
2. Why no notch and cutout which is the trademark iphone look?
3. Why this "tall" 21:9 ratio which is today the opposite of "wide" 19.5:9?

Not sure why people are complaining about design? Why change when it works fine? Sony phone design is the most practical design out there. No notch, both speakers facing you, headphone jack, microSD, ip65/68 etc. Which other phone offers you those? I wish it's 19.5:9 or 20:9 at most but it's only minor issue and a matter of preference.
The fact that this type of design has been there since Xperia Z shows it's consistency and success. Other OEMs having to consistently redesign their phones every year shows they're yet to reach there.

S22/S23 Ultra is just a refined version of Note10/20 From 2019/2020, and Note10 is just a refined version of Galaxy S6 edge (popular with rounded edge and flat bottom) from 2015.👍

And they say Sammy likes to recycle old design. But somehow the Sony is somewhat a timeless classic. It looks the same but it's never boring. Still amazing that they can cram powerful hardware into a smaller chasis. Hopefully they can keep temps in check. Still want to see what else they have to offer this year. At least it's not what I'm looking for in a smartphone. I do however hope they update their design for the 1 VI.

-So are you suggesting they'll use bigger ultrawide sensor but same old main sensor? How's that possible? Unless they actually make a bigger 12mp RGB sensor, which would be nice.

Setting a trend doesn't mean you aren't copying others. Sure they made it popular, but you can't claim Sony copied Apple.

"We interpret that as an allusion to the high-end Xperia 1 IV, and before you say Sony is just following an Apple-Samsung trend towards flatter sides, we'd point out that the 1 II predates the reintroduction of the flat frame on the iPhone 12 generation"
And Xperia 1 II was released 7-8 months before iPhone 12 series and the render leaks of Xperia 1 II leaked earlier than iPhone 12 leaks.
