This is an SoC for CHEAP phones. It doesn't need to be fast. It's meant for communication, it doesn't need to have the biggest numbers.

It's already feels laggy to have G37 and now they made the slower model it. I think it's time for standarization for SoC, like they have to be as fast as some point to actually be released so that people who don't understand this field can buy a more proper device.

It's really harder to make 2+6 with A73/A53, as clusters are homogeneous and limited to 4 cores
You have to make tri-cluster config : 2A73+4A53+2A53...multiply cluster cache connection, it's unefficient, less powerfull and not really cheaper compare to 4A73+4A53 or 2A75+6A55...
Heterogenous clusters up to 8 cores comes with A75/A55 and later...2A75+6A55 are in the same cluster.
Mediatek introduced tri-cluster, but never did this 2+4+2 (Samsung did on Exynos 7885/7904...not awesome)
2big+4little+4little had some advantages : good multicores perfs and less heat compare to 4big+4little...just have to compare X20 to SD810 in 20nm! (Real comparaison, not articles from media that never get a real X20.

Literally just the same. No use for this chipset. G37 is already struggling to keep up. The G37 scores about 110k on AnTuTu 9 and 900 (Multi) for Geekbench 5.

I cant imagine with those super slow mediatek chipset how it Will perform it must use basic aosp rom to even perform good enough. Cant imagine how it perform with custom skinned Rom like MIUI etc

Even Helio P35 was faster compared to G35 and this G36 is a total garbage lol. I have Infinix Hot 10 Play and it runs Ş#it.
a lower clock speed for 90hz and 50mp support isn't worth it.

Seriously, what's the point for lowering it and making it cheaper? G37 is already slow. I know maybe this chipset should be enough for only social media FOR NOW - but no, considering most apps are getting heavier every time, I won't recommended any chipset that doesn't have any Cortex-A7x core, no matter how low the clock speed is.

Off point, but I see zero reasons to go below a Snapdragon 680 / Helio equivalent today. It's straight up a bad experience. And it gets worse pretty quick.

Helio G36 being called a gaming phone is not far from reality if you game candy crush or some other arcade games, or perhaps light 3d games.
They are still games, so yep
